$500 Upgrade on American International,

Flying to Barcelona tomorrow on American Airlines with my son. I booked in Business, my son I booked in economy. Checking him in and AA offers me a $500 upgrade offer. We're flying on the 777-200 which has a pretty good business class product. Spending the night in a hotel and I forgot my laptop. My friend is meeting me tmrw at the airport to give it to me (too late to go to lobby and use the laptops in business center). Want to know if the upgrade should still be available tomorrow (checked on expertflyer and it said c=7 for upgrade space).

There's no way to tell. AA could be selling just one upgrade or they could be selling 10, and everyone else that checks in will be offered an upgrade until they're all sold. The more they're selling, the better chance you'll have tomorrow.

thanks @rjw242. @jcatman, the hotel i'm staying at in NYC has a business center and there is a room with computers (usually business center means different things in other hotels)

I find that American (and United) will often fly the airplanes they have based on demand or what is available. Example: Flat bed A321 from JFK-BOS in First and MCE

I'd go downstairs and book it. No telling what will happen tomorrow.

LOL, can't really leave my 11 year old alone in a hotel room (wife would kill me) and I booked this hotel based on distance to JFK (not 5 stars) and not ideal to go downstairs at night.

From your description, pretty sure I've stayed at that same hotel for the same reason. That said, I don't think it'd be in any way risky to leave an 11-year-old in a hotel room for a bit (it's NYC, not Mogadishu), but everyone has their own comfort zone.

Don't have a smartphone?
