As JJeffrey stated, you will have FL access in Miami.

You are going on your honeymoon, therefore I
forbid you to go to Terminal E Turkish lounge. :) It is a small overcrowded s##thole.
Leave FL about 1 hour prior to boarding and do the long walk, followed by short tram to the E gate QR uses. By the time you get there they will be just starting boarding.

Congratulations!

I would also add for anyone who comes across this in the future that the welcome desk and entrance to the Turkish Airways lounge in E is up a short flight of stairs. If you are in a wheelchair, there is a small lift but no way to contact the front desk to let them know to open the lift for you. Typical MIA nonsense.

I’m doing ORD-JFK & JFK-HND on JAL. The Chicago flight is 5-8pm and the long leg is in first at 1235am the next day. Would I be able to access the ORD Flagship Lounge before that flight?

I need to book a positioning DCA-ORD -and debating booking a slightly earlier flight to account for delays/weather if I can spend that time in the FL.

Yes, will say ORD FL is my least personal favorite one in the system.

At least you have some good time for Soho & worth checking out Greenwich with all that time. The brewery & the Bridge is cool if you havent been.

Thank you for this great explanation of AA Lounge Access.
I have not travelled thru JFK since new named lounges have been opened .
I will be departing JFK next month as follows
Qantas Business Class JFK-SYD
OneWorld Emerald
Can I access the JFK Chelsea Lounge?

You're stopping in AKL I assume?

To answer your question though you need to be in Flagship First with AA or flying BA in order to access Chelsea.

You could use Soho or Greenwich.

AA Gold (+ non-status wife) flying on QR MIA-DOH-JNB but booked via AA (D fare); will we get FL access in MIA or will we be using the other lounges quoted by QR (Turkish & AC)? We were going to have access to FL when our original itinerary to DOH was via PHL on AA metal but since I successfully switched us onto the DOH direct (Q Suite, baby!) I'm unsure.

Side note: anyone ever been to the Terminal E Turkish lounge at MIA? Seems kinda underwhelming from what I've read. Frankly would be happy to buy a day pass for FL given it's our honeymoon and we want to enjoy everything to the max!

I'd avoid the E TK Lounge, but actually the new one between H and J is quite nice and worth visiting.

FWIW MIA FL has recently suspended the sale of one-day passes, but in you case you'll have access anyway.

Never flown QR from MIA, so I'm curious what tram are you referring to?

There is a short train to the E satellite where QR departs from.

I took this flight a few days ago (albeit coming in from DOH). Its like 15 minutes from the gate to the FL.

I know tastes vary, but in IMO, in terms of food, ORD is my favorite one, is orders of magnitude better than MIA and the rest.

Their latest offering of swedish style meatballs is amazing.

Thanks for the info!,
I thought they were talking about the currently out of service until-lord-knows-when Skytrain.

There is no airside access for AA/QR flights. You would have to clear security to get to the nicer one.

It is a bit further FL to QR gate, but 15 minutes is in the ballpark.

Tram and Skytrain are separate. AFAIK there is no timeline for the Skytrain to reopen.

All very easy.

Flagship Lounge access for Plati flying SJO-MIA-PDX in first?

Hi,

Lounge Buddy showed I should have access to the flagship lounge in MIA but the person at the lounge said it isn't included.

The terms don't seem to mention central America.

Any idea if lounge buddy is wrong or if the lounge person was incorrect?

You do not have FL access on that itinerary. FL access is basically for "long haul" international flights and Central America doesn't fit that criteria (that is why its not mentioned). Full access rules can always be found here:
