I don't think AA will start selling W with just six 787-9s in fleet. The remaining eight 787-9s scheduled for 2017 will be delivered from May 2017 onward. It's possible an equipment switch may happen in May. Starting later this month, AA will have four 777s at HAECO undergoing CIP, drastically accelerating the CIP in order to finish by the end of next summer. Long term, I'd be very surprised if AA uses the 787-9 on routes such as DFW-MAD, which are much better for DFW-PVG due to the range, whereas the 772s will be doing mostly TATL/Deep South America runs.

Flying it Oct 28th DFW-LAX in the PE seats right now; feel free to message me if anyone else will be on this flight. Maybe we could make a wiki for the domestic flights (not counting or counting the inaugural)?

Agreed.....really nice P/E-----although without getting a video tour not quite as good as CX which has some nice "user friendly" features that might make it a nicer place to be, but nevertheless, great product I think.

There are a couple versions of the photo of W/Y. The fullest version of the photo shows the first row of W with two full windows, which with the Dreamliner, is plenty of space. I imagine the two window seats won't be a major issue in order to get in and out without disturbing the aisle passenger.

Flew these seats last Wednesday with my dad. Seats 10 K and J. I really liked them way better than the WT+ seats I have flown in the past. The IFE screen was bigger. The Tray table was more than adequate. Good pitch and recline. I wouldn't hesitate at all to fly to Europe and back in these seats. I didn't utilize the footrest at all but my dad who is about 6'1" slept almost the entire flight with his feet on the footrest and he indicated he really appreciated it being there. The bulkhead seats have TONS of room.

Yuck....
I noticed that the seats in Y on the 789 now have leather seat covers.
I truly hope this is a 789-exclusive thing rather than AA following UA's and DL's lead by adding leather in Y on widebody aircraft. It looks so cheap and tacky-plus IMHO, it's incredibly uncomfortable.
