Oh nice! Will try that next time on same-day itins.

AA allows same-day checkin at Kowloon/HK station, so I did that in the morning instead.

Why is AA directing people to Plaza Premium Lounge as well as another I cannot recall at this very moment? Think the first letter of it begins with a “B”.

I didn’t have time to visit either as I opted to remain in town and window shop and explore.

I had just enough time to see the queue for the Plaza lounge and decided otherwise. My immediate thoughts were that these two lounges were closer to the gate AA uses (44?). The piece of paper the check in person gave me at Airport Express in Hong Kong didn’t mention any other lounges either.

They have an arrangement for Admiral's Club members to access two private HKG lounges. I used Plaza Premium once when I had two guests (Cathay lounges would only allow one guest with my EXP status).

I am an AC member and appreciate the offer. But to be honest, I was no impresses the the 20+ people in line to enter the club at the Plaza Premium Lounge. And as an OW Emerald, there didn't look to be anything Premium about the Lounge when I scanned the area behind the entrance open viewing areas. Too bad I didn't allow more time for me to visit Cathay's F Lounge. Next time!!!

AA 193 delayed by 12 hours tonight due to crew availability. No other business class seats available on their partners tonight. I thought they cleared this issue already. Frustrating

I am also frustrated with the 12 hour delay with AA 193. I missed 2 connecting flights because of the 12 hour delay. Had to rebook them and will also need to pay for a hotel in Hong kong. Was frustrated that I couldn't get on a Cathay pacific flight. I even agreed to go coach but they said no room available. I will go to the airport again right now and try to get some compensation. I am saving all my receipts so maybe they will reimburse me or use my credit card trip delay insurance.

Were these on separate tickets? When AA193 took a 15 hour delay from LAX earlier this year, they rebooked my connecting Taipei flight the following day, giving me some flexibility as to which departure I preferred, and covered the airport hotel in HKG. I was on a single itinerary. Curious why they wouldn't be doing the same thing for you.

For me they rebooked my flight to Taipei too. Problem we are still on the ground at LAX. The flight to tpe is pretty tight so I'm quite nervous rn

Wells they’re trying to put me on an Eva flightfor tmrw but is downgrading me to coach. At this point I don't care but I know there are business class seats available for tonight's Eva flight. Is it against their rules to put me on that flight ?

I used a mileage upgrade for the lax-hkg flight and was going to fly coach from hkg-tpe

There's been consistent reports over the last few years that EXP flyers upgrading with systemwides will have their upgrades held in place when rerouting on other One World carriers. I've personally experienced that this year on a HKG-LAX reroute from AA to CX, and a few years ago when AA cancelled a BRU departure at the gate and routed me home in BA business via LHR. Don't recall any reports about having the upgrades retained outside of One World - you pretty much accept the downgrade/original ticketed class if you want an alternative routing outside of One World. Can't tell from your profile if you have EXP status.

Whats not clear is if AA treats mileage upgrades the same way they treat systemwide upgrades. I'd just be guessing at an answer for that. Maybe you'd have some leverage as an EXP, but if you're not a flyer at that level I think you'd have quite the tough sell ahead of you to get booked in EVA business class on a paid economy ticket. That would cost AA some serious money.

Guessing AA now cancelling LAX-HKG today is going to make things much more difficult for you. Good luck sorting out the connecting flights for whenever they now have you scheduled to arrive.

Will this affect crew availability for 192 on 12/27, as it would normally be the same crew that operated this flight?

Update: 192 on 12/27 was crewed by an excellent dfw based crew that was supposed to fly the canceled 126 on 12/26.
