Although I’ll admit that it was the better part of the meal compared with the lukewarm soup and unappetizing salad that was served beforehand.

Apologies if this is off-topic: AA speciality meals?
im flying AA biz in Sept from JFK to MAD (overnight), then onward to LHR in BA biz (morning flight, landing shortly after 12 PM). Roundabout, I know, but saved a boatload on taxes and fees for my AAdvantage award ticket compared to flying on BA direct to LHR.
What’s the view on ordering AA specialty meals? The only ones I’ve ever ordered are Hindu veg/non-veg., but not previously with AA. I really don’t want to get a crappy steak or fish. Anyone have the Hindu meal on AA international biz? If so, thoughts?
Finally, would you submit a meal request for my BA flight, or roll the dice on a Club Europe breakfast?
Many thanks in advance!

I like grits with lots of butter and Tabasco but how in hell does that pair with salmon? Weird

The menu choices ex-RDU were almost exactly the same back in April (although the BBQ chicken went back and forth between chicken & duck several times in the months leading up to my flight). The cannelloni presentation was a little sloppy, but it actually tasted quite good. I recommend it.

Potato Korma Curry
Had this on Sat LHR-DFW.
No pics.
If if I had that at a US Indian restaurant I would give it a C+. So that means a B+ on airplane food. Put my big pat of butter on it and that helped.
Would order again.

Just wanted to add a quick data point. Flew DFW-LHR a couple of weeks ago and had buffalo skillet chicken with jalapeño cheddar corn cakes, gorgonzola, golden beet and carrot slaw, and it was delicious.

Ordered the Muslim meal recently for DFW-MAD and CDG-DFW in economy. For all meals, I was served Indian vegetarian food... which was fine by me as I am a fan. I noticed that the sticker label on my meal was labeled something like MOML-AVML and a couple other special meals I am not remembering, so obviously they consolidate the various special meals into one.
The most interesting thing was that on the flight from Paris to Dallas, they served a lot of British stuff. The mid-flight little ice cream containers they served were from the UK. And the snacks they leave in the galley for people who get hungry were millionaire bars/shortbread as well as crisps also from the UK. The second meal they served (for all passengers) were pre-packaged curry tarts labeled as made in a UK bakery. You would think a Paris-origin flight would serve French snacks? What gives?

I'm flying JFK-GRU in First at the end of the month. Congratulations to AA on making the Business Class offerings sound better than the First Class ones.
Maybe I"m out of date, but I thought First Class featured more graciously plated versions of the same Business Class food with one more option?

chanterelle mushroom corn pudding, roasted asparagus, Café de Paris butter
Bourbon-Glazed Salmon
fig and roasted pepper orzo, sugar snap peas, cherry tomato
Pommery Mustard and Honey Baked Chicken
wild mushroom and pea risotto, giardiniera
Santa Fe-Style Enchiladas
roasted squash, baby spinach, queso fresco, grilled corn
FIRST

Café de Paris butter, papas bravas, haricots verts
Coconut Crab Cakes
five-spice tomato sauce, herb couscous
Lamb Scotch Quail Eggs
mashed potatoes, mushroom demi-glace, Brussels sprouts

I ended up ordering the Beef Rendang going to LHR and the Asian Beef Cheeks coming back to DFW. The Beef Rendang was pretty good, but the salmon looked better. The good news about the beef is that the sauce is on the side in case you don't care for it. The Asian beef cheeks coming back were dry and terrible.

That said, I've had the Chicken and it was pretty good (the risotto was really bland though).
