Was/is AA planning to convert the remaining zodiac 772 fleet to B/E or are we stuck with the mismatch until a future cabin refurb?
Not sure how current the unofficial fleet sheet is, but it shows 17 still configure with zodiac

Take a look at the wiki post in the "Aircraft guide: Which 777-200ER / 772 / 777? (2019 on)" thread.

Thanks for the clarification. The Wiki doesn't indicate if there are any known plans to convert the Zodiacs to B/E, which leads me to believe they are not going anywhere until some future CIP of the 772 fleet. I wouldn't count on that for at least 5 more years, or perhaps when those 19 birds go in for D checks, whenever that may be.

I'd take row 7 over row 5, the L2 and R2 doors are located between row 7 and the lavs, thus there is extra space compared to the distance between row 5 and the lavs. Row 7 is also farther from the lavs than row 1 is (the front lavs abut row 1). We recently sat in row 8DH from TLV to JFK; there was very little noise and traffic near us (there was one guy from the back walking around the plane every 30 minutes or an hour or so, I was under the impression that passengers on international flights were not supposed to go between cabins, however, that was not enforced).

Confused about Seating
I just booked 2 seats JFK - FCO Biz Class, via an AA Vacation package. 777-200ER. I was offered seats 6 D & H. Looking on the AA site, I see no such seats. Only row 6 seat is 6 L. Middle of row 6 is the galley. I said to her I do not see such a seat, but she insisted they are on the seat map. So then I looked at Seat map on SeatGuru - the same, no seats 6D&H. I also looked on seatmaps.com and that too shows no seats 6D&H. SO how can I be seated there? is there a new plane coming online that AA has not yet loaded to their website? What's going on?
She finally booked us in Seats 10D&H, last row of Biz class. Will those seats have any issues?
Do I recall correctly that AA does not provide Free WiFi even in TA Biz class?
Thanks

Based on the conversation with the Agent, the Seat Map on AA site is not the same seat map the Reservation people are using. So who knows what the "desired location" will be? THere's a disconnect.

"So then I looked at Seat map on SeatGuru -" That web site has been useless for years. Not up to date.
Far better to trust the airline web site (after all it is their aircraft)
And https://www.aerolopa.com/ (by a person on the BA forum.)
https://www.aerolopa.com/aa-boeing-777-seat-plans [no 6D 6H for 200ER]

The map I'm showing you in that link has alternating rear facing seats. About 1/2 of the 777-200 fleet has those, and the other half is all forward facing like this: https://www.aerolopa.com/aa-772-type-2
If you prefer forward facing, book a seat that is forward facing on the first seat map. If you would like the possibility of being in a reverse facing seat, book one that is reverse seating on the 1st diagram.
You won't know which type you're getting until a day or two before the flight when the actual aircraft is assigned to your route.
