  • Flagship First Dining access: First Class customers on American’s 3-class international and transcontinental flights will have exclusive access to FlagshipSM Dining in 2017.

  • Admirals Club access: No announced or predicted access changes.
However, thirty day memberships are no longer available as of 25 Jul 2016, and One Day Pass cost has increased to $59. Annual Club memberships increased in price in 2016.

I met a nice young couple in the security line at IAH on Friday. They may have been once-a-year flyers for the holidays. Guested them into the AC. It feels really great to do that, occasionally.

I just walked by it and it looks like there was an employee at the entrance and it looked open.

It is indeed open and it's superb. Great hot/cold buffet and Bollinger served by very helpful staff. Plenty of AA management ( I presume) on hand to make sure it all gets off to a good start, and it has.

Lots of security here - first a check to make sure you're eligible for entry before even walking through the door, and then the standard check-in. The first person was a bit hesitant seeing my domestic BP and LATAM card, but eventually let me through, and then there was no problem after that.

This place is massive! I really enjoy all of the different seating areas and the tarmac views, as well as the people watching you can kind of do (through the buffet area) when pax are arriving on international flights. I haven't checked out the buffet yet but the plates that other people are carrying around certainly look appetizing.

A negative is that it's very loud. Lots of plates and other things clanking, and a lot of very loud (drunk?) guests which I haven't experienced in the other FLs. There also seems to be some finishing work going on as there's lots of hammering. Of course, as I said it's massive, so I could probably try to find a quieter place but I circulated twice to find a usable work surface and don't want to move now.

I also wonder why they only have one wine bar. The place is so large it can be a decent walk to get from your seat to the wine. I noticed in ORD the other day and now here that they have wine bar attendants who pour for you. I'm getting tired of explaining that champagne is a variety of wine and should be served in a regular white wine glass, not those stupid flutes. Just let me pour my own!

Kidding aside, an impressive effort on the part of AA. Overall a very good space, and it seems large enough to cope with the crowds that MIA will have. ORD already feels overrun at many times during the day, as does JFK.

Actually, a wine tender is good. It may stop those who mix Champagne and Coke/Pepsi. Yes, that did happen last month in the JFK FL.
On another note, is Flagship dining coming to MIA and if so, is it open now?

Yes, there is a FF Dining room, and yes, it is open.

I'm ignoring your first sentence for the sake of my sanity.

Last Friday I met a nice couple in the TSA precheck line at IAH. They were returning to Canada and they fly about once or twice a year. (This time of year tends to bring out the Clampetts). We could always ponder how an infrequent traveler from another country gets TSA precheck. Anyway, I invited them into the IAH Admirals Club as my guest. It really made their day. Maybe more of us should do that.

We are at the Miami FL now, and it feels a lot quieter than the ACs. Very spacious and comfortable! Good food and of course, a good selection of alcoholic beverages. They told me that they will prepare made-to-order Arepas starting at 3:00 pm. I’m looking forward to trying them.
