AA.com superlative quality rears its ugly head.

Can you construct the same via Google Flights? if so, you can click the link under your itinerary there that says "Book with AA" and it will take you directly to the itinerary check-out page on aa.com.

Is this an open-jaw ticket, returning to the same city from which you originate? Have you priced out two separate one-ways?

AA.com does let you construct some routings that won't pass muster when it's time to price them. The final inventory check and fares are done at the time of buying.

I'm presuming you tried two separate tickets for A-B and C-D, my guess is that will price out to what Google is quoting.

yes it is, but the one way is 2 dollars more than the 2 legs...((((( it is an international trip

Does sound like two separated legs. An open-jaw would be A-B and C-A. I have done that on AA.com, albeit years ago.

is this a bait and switch on american's part?

when i click the very high fare no problem getting the buy screen...

so frustrating

How about sharing the cities, dates and routing? FT works best with all the information.

kctigers Feb 10, 2016 11:27 am

i booked and flew a similar ticket just last month

AA.com is not current technology. It could be that inventory is available on one leg but not the other, therefore it cannot price correctly. If google flights can't price it correctly for booking, it's simply not available.
