When I search EY's site NYC - AUH - NYC RT there is no Guest J availability AUH - NYC. When I search the same dates one-way AUH - NYC I see lots of Guest J availability. EF also sees the same Guest J availability but AA is not able to see or book it. Any suggestions as to what's happening? Is this phantom inventory or is there some way to get AA to see it?
Have you tried calling AA in Australia/NZ to see if they can find availability?

Yeah, sorry, edited in-between. Called Australia and got the same answer.

Agreed, try NZ as they have been the most reliable as of late.

+1
I am 100% (8/8) with NZ. Not sure why since I thought that NZ and OZ both go to the Fiji call center.
Wonder if there country specific agents in Fiji?

Ok, second try with NZ worked. Thanks! And yeah, I thought they were the same call center so I didn't even try NZ before.

Also had a similar experience a few weeks ago. AA Australia saw nothing at all for 2 calls and AA NZ was able to see and hold award in a matter of minutes.

Again NZ call center to rescue. Etihad website was not showing any J/F avail for a weekend in Sept. I called NZ office and the seats were available on both JFK flight for Friday & sat. May be next time I just call NZ to check availability and book.

I wonder what explains it? Maybe a point-of-sale issue?

Probably when searching it was JFK-AUH and not AUH-JFK-AUH to show the availability that the NZ agent was able to see.

What I'm trying to understand is why the "Australia" and "New Zealand" (put in quotes because the agents aren't actually there) agents see different availability, and why the NZ ones see what the EY web site shows when searching AUH-xxx-AUH. If it was a PoS issue, that could explain it all.

They definitely know if you called the Au or NZ number, as they quote fees in that currency. Which makes me wonder if perhaps the issue is PoS restrictions? Perhaps EY first restricted some awards based on US PoS, then when too many of us started called Australia, they added that country.

Ahhh my mistake. I would think it is a point of sale thing as well.

Am I still allowed to use first class lounge for AUH-JFK (on F award)? Some said we can only use premium lounge after US clearance.
I got mixed result on google, probably due to change last year. Pls advise.

You can use the F lounge prior to US pre-clearance. Once you go into pre-clearance though all you have is the single "premium" lounge inside.
