FWIW I flew the pmAA DCA-DFW-ANC routing a couple years ago for a late-summer MR and found it quite doable.

Yes, there's that - though for the dates I could consider, when I was looking, DFW was priced much higher than PHX as a connecting airport.

The amount of people they shuttle thru that terminal, is amazing. And frustrating. They need double the space. It's a huge pain to just walk out of the jetway, and get thru the corridor.
....not to mention the Eagles Nest....

Interesting the section in the release about Flagship check-in suggests they are expanding eligibility: "Elite and First Class customers can enjoy Flagship® Check-In, American’s private, dedicated VIP check-in facility at LAX."

I didn't think all Elite and First Class customers could use Flagship check-in

Finally, I am so happy to have AA metal from SEA to LAX. Now I can have the potential to be upgraded vs just having Exit Row on AS metal. Good news.

The press release didn't say when the new service will start. Does anyone know when this route will start?

Ah yeah, I too have noticed that the pricing disparities on pmUS vs. pmAA routes do still often persist...

I'm pretty sure they are referring to CK and Int'l & 3 Class Transcon F, so nothing has changed as far as that is concerned.

That's a pretty decent number of seats to dump on the market. Last time that happened with VX AS decided to run a hourly shuttle and there were $39 o/w fares at one point. Possible fun times ahead.

I wonder what happened?
Reasons not yet mentioned = 3rd party issues, kinda like what happened to HND at first.

Potential to be upgraded? Maybe technically on the A319s, but not likely with only 8 F seats.
