I was able to receive the exact language of the company policy from American Airlines today via Twitter regarding PDB's. I was actually quite impressed they followed up with me regarding a conversation that started a few days ago. I also received a nice note from Hector Adler who I also reached out to who said that pre-departure services were discussed at great length at a meeting late last week. Let's hope things begin to improve and if not we continue to press the FA's to follow company policy.

So there you have it.

@AmericanAir 08/18 AA123 ORG Full #PDBServed
@AmericanAir 08/18 AA123 ORG Limited #PDBServed
This allows all PDB service to be posted, good, bad, and otherwise. This should show AA that we feel this is a desired service. Maybe if someone gets energetic, a summary post could be done, maybe weekly?

I've had eight DFW crewed 738's in the past week. All offered PDB's. In the last one, the flight attendant actually used that term. Many of the flight attendants were older, so presumably with seniority.
In one case ... a pax told the FA, you're holding up boarding just to serve these people, get real.

Asked, and they said they were skipping it for an on time departure. But we boarded on time, the flight was catered, and we left on time. What did happen was the FAs sat around talking in the galley for 20 mins.

No PDB on my last two AA flights, ORD-BOS on 24 May and ORD-TPA today. Cant remember the last time I didn't get a PDB on UA. Think I will write in to AA, there was no apparent reason for either flight.

Maybe it's a Chicago thing.
Yesterday, 6/10: PBI-ORD Nada -- nothing offered, no coats taken either. Chicago-based crew. This was a dinner flight, and that service was adequate if perfunctory
Also 6/10: ORD-MCI Full PDB -- crew was not Chicago based (I asked)
