American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

Thanks for the tip, found out from the app I am re-upped for 2017. I was worried as my 16 activity was sedate compared to prior years but I expected a busy flying year ahead, I am glad not to have dropped.

To clarify, all CK agents also answer EXP calls, but not all EXP agents are CK. To put it another way, in the RES agent hierarchy, there are domestic, international, resolutions, EXP, and CK (oversimplified, there are additional gradients). Agents can answer calls for their level and all lower levels. EXP agents have resolutions capabilities. CK agents have ACS capabilities.

Thinking about the several calls I made today to AA for various reasons, no one said EXP desk... everyone else just said their name and how are you Mr. Yipster... is this a sign?

Has the CK desk been known to answer non CK calls or is there a chance I am in the club? How can I find out for certain?
Yes, CK agents answer the EXP line (see above). In the old days, agents would prerecord a greeting snippit such as "American Airlines xxx desk, this is yyy," where "xxx" was "Resolutions", "Executive", "Concierge Key", etc., and the system would play the appropriate one, even though it was the same agent. Now, it's up to the agent to speak live, so not all say the right thing every time.

I saw the same thing on my expiration date this afternoon, but didn't get the 2 extra SWU. However this evening I got an email re-inviting me to CK status. While the extra SWU are nice, they are not really necessary for CK since CK can upgrade with miles and no copay and I have lots of miles.

I might be completely misremembering, but, on the off chance I'm not, I believe it was the case that between sales-nominated vs AAdv-nominated CK's, one group got the 2 additional SWU as part of their CK package the other didn't.

Got my renewal notification today - THANK GOD! They cut it close and I thought I was not going to get it and after a year of insane flying and spending:

- 250K EQM
- 100 Segments
- 50% of the flights were in paid First

Leaving Seattle this morning, they did announce boarding for CK first (different than pre board with premium services); did not happen on Tuesday at DFW.

I think AA really is starting to improve their CK experience - i recently landed in LAX at the remote terminal and I was greeted by a CK agent who drove me in a Cadillac to the main building. Definitely faster than waiting and taking the airport bus.

Just got email that I made CK - after having lost it last year due to partners company not renewing a corporate contract. Very surprised as my spend was probably ~$40K this year on AA and most my flights were paid Y LGA-RDU. I took about 40 flights LGA-RDU in cheapest Y fare. One paid F JFK-LAX-SYD. 3 paid J JFK-LHR. One paid J JFK-GIG. Four paid Y 4 JFK-LAX and used systemwides on all those tickets. I did do 2 LAX-LHR in paid F on BA and 4 paid F JFK-NRT on JAL and credited to AA. All my Y travel in domestic was upgraded for free so kind of surprised the formula would have tapped me.

All of my paid premium travel was a discounted fare.

Yesterday on my DFW-SFO flight, the gate agent called for CK to board. Only one guy walked up and boarded. Then she called for F and crowd walked up. Most were in F as I was one of the first five to board in the crowded. Others just headed to Y. But, to my surprise upon boarding, the CK guy was sitting pass the exit row! And right before the doors closed, the GA went into Y and pulled 3 people up front and the CK guy wasn't one of them! Strange!!!????

First time as CK

Just got my invite, As a data point:

2016 - > 180,000 EQM
2016 - > 210 EQS

almost all tickets booked on non-refundable fares. 99% in coach.

I suspect the combined US/AA program helped me. Previously, was CP 18 years running on US and EXP 11 years running on AA - never CK. Now everything is consolidated. Total segments flown were actually down for this year

Whats your spend though? I got 204k EQM for probably 10k, I know I won't come anywhere close to being CK.

CK/LHR

two quick questions re: CK service at LHR-

1) for transfers from / to Terminal 2 - Terminal 5, is CK treated differently?

2) for flights that board with a bus from the terminal to the tarmac, is CK treated differently?

thanks
