American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

I am curious what others are doing with their second metal tag? Like me, I have observed most CK's have their MD80 metal tag on their backpack. I certainly don't want two metal tags on my backpack, but do I want to put the second tag on my most commonly used luggage that I check-on some of the time? The MD-80 tag does have "2019" on the name side, so do I retire that one and now use the 767 tag on my backpack?

I had the metal tag on my backpack for a week or so...but it clinged/clanged when it hit the zippers. I love the tag, just don't like the noise.

Also, I would never put it on luggage that I would check...I'm sure it would be damaged or lost in no time.

Thumbs up Discretion on where to place the CK bag tag

I keep my AA CK tag on my carry-on bag. I never like to have that tag on my laptop bag which I carry into work. As a consultant, it's not good optics to flaunt that in front of our clients.

10 Year Concierge Key - Downgraded

Well, after 10 years of being Concierge Key, I guess my 2019 $51k EQD and 250k EQM miles didn't cut it. I just got a package in the mail with my new Executive Platinum tags noting "my travel wasn't enough to re qualify for Concierge Key but I am still a super valuable customer."

I called, and a super nice agent said she was also perplexed, but they don't control the "nominating" process and said she was sorry but there was nothing she could do.

Just tossed my MD-80 metal tag in the trash - Delta here I come!

It happens. I was downgraded for a couple years but I got it back. It seems like a rash decision to fully commit to a change, but I don't deny needing to try both if loyalty isn't an issue.

Yeah - Delta actually has better flight options for where I go, I only stayed with American because I was Concierge Key

Agree - Also as a consultant, I won’t put any tag on my briefcase - so they go on my roll-a-board (when that goes to a client site, even that tag is tucked into the zipper pocket).

I absolutely love the metal tag tho, way more than the standard, and this presents a new question... what to do when I’m no longer a CK and just ep? I find it odd when folks have old EP tags on their bag then board with group 3/4... EP isn’t that hard to get, nor is it that special, so if I didn’t make EP I’d remove the tag.

Not sure what I’ll do about the CK tag tho, as it is both special and hard to get - but I don’t want to be pretending to be something I’m not. Rather, I’d like to keep it just show I got one at one point...

Thoughts?

A great question that I have been pondering myself.

I think you continue to keep it on your bag. It’s a sign of a much difficult achievement. Sort of like the tag people used to get off a Concorde flight.

The metal tag for me is too noisy with it clanging along with the zipper in my bag. People can hear me coming from a mile away . Hence no tags for me.
