American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

I'm honestly surprised $62K of flight spend didn't do it...

AA just told every single poster here that they have vastly overpaid for CK. Let the devaluation of the CK program begin as the writing is on the wall if they are willing to sell CK for a steep discount.

Makes you rethink what the CK program has become
One point of clarification it seems like you need to hit some level of spend etc. to get the offer so it isnt like theyre giving the house away for $5k. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out as it seems like this is a new / evolving concept.

Does anyone have hard proof on if "AA spend" includes code-shares? Like BA for instance. Or Qatar. Or JAL.
The theory has always been that if you spend $60K a year on flights via AA-- on AA flight numbers (operated by a partner), that much would NOT count towards CK. In other words, one theory is that only American metal counts.

But every AA employee I ask says this isn't true. Yet many FT posts claim that AA metal is all CK cares about.

The variability we are seeing in the shakedown 'pound sand' CK offer from AA, could stem from some having high AA spend (but largely on BA metal, for instance). And others having lower, but more 'pure' AA spend.

I think UA went to 70-75k to get GS with their PassPlus program.

Pretty sure CK is going to be around that level of spend now for their algorithm to automatically grant CK.

This is what I always thought, but with the above post I thought I would double-check. It ends up it was actually $57K, On my spreadsheet I bled over some flights outside the qualifying window. Most was AA metal, 95%. The only non-AA metal would be Alaska. Either way, contacting me within a week of the end of the month is a bit disingenuous and reeks of desperation. And the agent made sure she told me that I would "downgraded" at that time, exact word. Since when should EP be considered "downgraded". Moot point all-in-all, moving my company back to UA anyway.

But you were offered the $5k pound sand offer. Most were offered the $10k offer. You have high 'pure' AA metal flights. I wonder if the $10k 'pound sand offers came to people with less pure AA spend?

smart move. 57k in hub city may be low but Ord is a double hub, it should have a ton of weight. If AA thinks CK will be 75k all AA metal its delusional - hardship to be on AA metal for that much flying. No thanks. Ill take high LP EP, get my perks and switch to DL/ AA (UA in SF is super competitive with elites). This experiment with cash gouging hasnt worked - not one post anywhere saying - yep, I paid. Not one. lol

Not here, maybe, but I know of one who paid $10k and one who paid $5k.

Your situation is interesting as it sort of points to the ~$60K metric still being an unspoken hurdle since they are asking for $5K on top of your $57K. That being said, they should've just offered you a free challenge to accept rather than charge you if you were that close.

The woman who called me about the status mentioned that EP gifting is for renewals and I want to say someone up-thread mentioned that theyd be added to the account at some point in May. Nothing in my account, but also not expecting anything.

It’s official. Bye Vasu. Pound sand!

As reported by several of us over last two weeks (despite the oddly almost convulsing defendants racing to his rescue in this very channel)

Now who in AA came up with the “6 week work from home” nonsense?

And to AA. reach out to us CKers if you want! to right the ship……we want to help.
