American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

So, now that Iíve been renewed for CK for another year, Iím going to try to get back the BA Gold that I had but recently lost. I realized that Iím already halfway to lifetime Gold and want to try and see if I can perhaps achieve that over the next 5 years or so if Iím lucky.

My question is, if I book flights on AA metal through AA using my BA number, will I still get the usual CK benefits on those flights? The benefits Iím thinking of are Flagship First check in, FFL lounge access, and pre boarding. And of course IRROPS assistance if needed as well.

Has anybody done this and still gotten all of the CK benefits we get when using our CK number on the booking?

I remember these coming out a few days after status updated last year.

No, but I have 14 in my account that I never use because I just book first. I did notice that I cannot gift status either. Last year I was able to gift both EXP and Platinum but I don't see them in my account.

If you book with BA number AA doesnít know you are CK. You will get things like Flagship lounge, boarding, and check-in through BA OWE status but not IRROPs. If I hadnít been renewed I was going to do the BA status match so as to get Flagship lounge etc (I connect through Dallas and use the FL lounge when the connection is 90 minutes or more). Since I got renewed as CK I will stick with that since the IRROPs and tarmac transfer typically bails me out a couple times a year.

SAF - very small, I fit the description of small market flyer connecting on RJ through DFW. In the summer 5 flights per day SAF-DFW and one SAF-PHX.

Yeah, I knew I couldnít get proactive IRROPS help, but honestly itís not always proactive anyway. I was more wondering if I call them during IRROPS if theyíd be able to do their magic if the booking uses my BA number.

Iím also just a Silver on BA now, so not sure if thatís OWE or not. Iíd like to just show my CK card on my phone but not sure that would work at the airport to get all the typical CK benefits.

The CK lottery winners

Interesting thread over on Reddit of people who learned about their CK status/renewal this week by seeing it in the app before being formally notified. The thread has a lot of LP data points as well. Still seems to be heavily driven by LPs earned flying AA versus general CC non-airfare spend.

Do we think all the renewals are done? I'm hoping they're still processing otherwise my 1 year run as CK is over. 783K LP, $55k AA spend

Just received an email from CK - not renewed but extended till May end. Mid May they will send a challenge offer. I can live with that.

There has not yet been any official notification email (that I have seen - yet), so I suspect that everyone that is reporting it saw it on their app/online first.

I would status match AA CK/EXP to Delta Platinum, then use that Delta Platinum to match to BA gold. At least youíll earn more Avios per flight.

BA silver I believe is OW Sapphire status and should grant you FFL access.

Iím awaiting my BA Gold match via Delta since I am starting from scratch with BA. But planning to get Gold Guest List and credit rest of my AA flights to BA.

Extended for a month with the prospect of a challenge. 2023-2024 program year 1.1mm LPs of which 700k card, 200k flying (mix of domestic J and Y, one transatlantic Y), and 200k hotel and shopping. This is within 5% either side for 2022-2023 program year across all categories of LPs, so clearly the priority shifted against card spend in favor of flying. Will be interesting to see how the challenge lines up with travel plans.

Not sure AA played me right. I don't need one more LP to keep EXP through 2/28/2026 given 200k LPs already from March and April spend/travel. Last six months AA did a very poor job promoting the prospect of buying Y in EXP. I missed more upgrades as a CK than I did in any year I can remember as an EXP, and I was EXP 2012-2022, and many of the CK upgrades I got were only because I was #1 on the list at the gate. If I have to buy F, flying from New York most of the time I'm going to be as well or better off on DL or UA - certainly in terms of direct flights.

Would you mind sharing what the letter said? Some of us are curious what the non-renewal process is like, and the offer for a challenge is nice (unless it's unattainable).
