American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

Im especially alarmed because I just received an email from customer service about another issue, and the final line was "we appreciate your executive platinum status." That freaked me out as if it is an indication that I wont be renewed as Concierge Key. I wonder if it was just a mistake from the customer relations desk or if I did drop to EXP. My app still says CK through 4/30 so not sure if I am reading too much into it or if it's a sign that I got dropped and they are able to see that in the system.
Literally exact same thing happened to me - I replied and asked them if this was their way of telling me I would not be CK in 2024 and no reply

Just have to say it as we all buckle down for decision-time, life will go on one way or the other. I find I post-rationalize half of the "perks" of CK, justifying the spend/travel/commitment to AA, the rest of the time- I just wonder if I'm bored.

In the end, whether or not we are renewed this year, you are all still awesome. Love the aviation industry and for those of us that fall of CK this year, we will adjust, just like we've all done our entire lives.

Happy Wednesday to you all!

Unless you are flying purely all AA metal, I think we all sacrifice something: higher cost tickets, time due to less optimal schedule, or worst off product to maintain CK.

But, for the folks who don't make CK, life is good still, and perhaps better. Just used a non AA service at LAX today to get back to HNL. Didn't have to go through the TSA lines as I was the only person in the TSA line, non crowded lounges, decent food selection made to order (a la carte), tarmac transfers, and boarded even before preboards. Handoff was flawless with everyone taking care of you every single step along the way, for example, I forgot my laptop charger, and they found an Apple charger that I can use for the flight.

So no need to despair if CK is not renewed. Life is good either way.

Yes, I bought a PS membership and bought a bundle of prepaid visits; so the overall cost per visit is 100 dollars more than AAs Five Star.

For LAX based AA flyers that arent going to renew CK, I would recommend.

Im assuming you used the shared space? I tried that once last year and was generally unimpressed with the whole experience.

Maybe they were just having an off day when I was there. Perhaps Ill give them another try as it sounds like your visit was much better than mine was.

Last time you mentioned you weren't too impressed, but it might be an off day, and might be due to how busy? I just use the Salon as a solo flyer, so I can't speak for the suites.

The last flight, I was there from 6:30AM-7:30AM, and only 3 three groups in the Salon. After about 10 minutes of arrival, the two other groups left, and I was the only one there until departure.

My experiences:
1. 2 days before arrival, I get a text from a rep asking if I need anything or help; confirmation text.
2. Upon arrival, I am assigned an agent who greets me when I arrive with taxi/uber; who is my point of contact while in the salon, and he/she will assist with anything (thats how I got the apple charger). They give you your game plan, and time that they will take you through TSA/board your car. They take your ID, check you in to your flight, and print out your boarding pass for you.
3. Upon departure, a new team assists you through TSA to your car, and introduces you to the driver. (Might be an over kill to just have this team do this).
4. The driver introduces you to the jet bridge agent who helps you board.

The entire experience was similar to the service at Aman hotels, just a seamless experience where everyone knew your name and game plan.

Personally, much better experiences than anything I had with CK, and I wish CK was set up like P/S. Just want an efficient service and access to good food/beverage. With FFD not opening at LAX, P/S is a better option at LAX. When P/S opens at DFW, I think because of FFD access, Five Star might be a better option.

And the thought process behind P/S at LAX:

I'm guilty of taking suboptimal routes to try to maintain CK: worse schedule and higher costs.

My typical route would be the redeye PDX to DFW to HNL so I can skip getting a hotel overnight and get a better hard product with inflight wifi access. With costs going up, and now, the minimal cost: at least $2800, and typically $3800 oneway to get me in sooner.

Versus:

LAX to HNL: $800 USD.

This means, I can go PDX-LAX with DL or AS due to AA not having any evening direct flights to LAX; get a hotel at LAX to credit Hyatt towards lifetime Globalist, and purchase P/S and still save more money than if I had purchased my typical route of PDX-DFW-HNL.

How much do pre-paid bundles cost? Thanks for the suggestions, really got me thinking about this as I'm LAX based.

Really good discussion. I, too, am LAX based and have this suggestion made to me. I will have CK through the next year and am getting a BA gold card to access lounges so very interested in more info about PS. Thank you.

Just quoting Salon (shared space) yearly membership prepaid bundles:

10 visits = $795.00/visit = $7,950
20 visits = $750.00/visit = $15,000

If you are traveling with family often, then you may want to look at their Suite yearly membership.

I'm holding off booking some trips until I know. Am surprised it is taking them this long.

I don't recall it ever coming this close to the expiration date.
