American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

While it's possible, I think it's a bit of a glitch in the matrix. Hyatt's membership earning year has already started, so the system knows you're Globalist now, and you have started the journey to Globalist for another full year. If you drop down to Explorist on March 1, I believe that will update to 'you're on your way to Explorist through February 2026'.

We'll know in 5 days when March 1 rolls around.

OOOOOhhhhhhh..... that is different then. No. That isn't what it means. We all have that on the site that breaks down where we are in increments. I am having issues trying to copy and paste mine but basically it has qualifying nights and base points for THIS calendar year. You most likely have 0. That will show you your path to getting it based on meeting certain milestones. Sorry. But looks like you will expire that status this week then you can watch and see your progress through 2025 ugh Feb 29, 2024 Feb 29, 2024

Thank you for researching this subject. I had my globalist renewed, but wasnt sure if it was due to my history with Hyatt or if AA had any part to do with it.

Ive been a Hyatt Globalist for years without any CK influence, and received this email as I was about 15 night short of renewing this year..

I got the same email from Hyatt but haven't seen my Globalist date extended yet. Hopefully it'll update on March 1.

Congrats those who got extended through your stays. Had I known this was a temporary thing, I certainly would have ramped up my Hyatt stays this last year.

Abit off topic. Personally, I think CKs should look at directing more percentage of travel budget spend towards lifetime Globalist, rather than CK itself; as long as Hyatt spend applies to your travel/business patterns/decisions.

CK has to be renewed yearly, and lifetime Globalist status is infinite.

Lifetime Globalist is 200k spend in total, and CK is about 70k+ spend per year.

Lifetime Globalist is 1,000,000 base points. Is that equivalent to the 200k in spend? Certainly more doable than any other program. It's just that Hyatt has a smaller foot print especially internationally. And CK is more than 70k more I think. When I first got it and we had the EQDs, it was easier to see but I had it for several years under 60k. And who knows what criteria is used these days. Certainly not just the LPs. But yes, agree, I would have maximized Hyatt spend this last year rather than trying for Marriott Titanium.

Can someone please expound on the benefits of why being a Globalist is better than Ambassador Elite or Diamond? It seems like most in this group really enjoy the benefits of being a Globalist vs the others. And as I have not stayed in a Hyatt in the last few years, I am curious to why. Thanks for sharing.

I prefer Marriott. Way more hotel options globally and the Ambassador program is great, at least it has been for me.

In my experience, I have felt more valued as a Globalist with Hyatt. I am Diamond with Hilton, and Platinum with Marriott. The only time have gotten upgrades with Marriott is when I have suite rewards to redeem. I can't remember that last time I got an upgrade with Hilton. Hyatt will send emails letting me know that I have an upgraded room or suite. Their lounges are better although I have access with the other 2, they are below where Hyatt is when they have a lounge. You get guest of honor certificates that you can give to others so that they get the same benefit as you when they book and you gift it. I have gotten early arrival and late departure more with Hyatt. I travel with friends who made it a goal to reach Ambassador with Marriott and they have been disappointed. I get treats sent to my room more with Hyatt than the others. Actually only once with Marriott when I use my suite upgrade. Again, can't remember that last time with Hilton. And I think that lifetime is easier to achieve with Hyatt. Anyway.... just my opinion. Looking forward to others. Also, love the dual accrual with AA and Hyatt.

Having been a multi year Marriott Ambassador pre-COVID, switched to Hyatt Globalist during COVID and afterwards, I'll give my own perspective and synopsis.

The personalized ambassador programs for both Hyatt and Marriott are about equal now, as Hyatt's program has declined abit, and not as personable as before. Marriott's program was a joke as most did not get the ambassadors that travel bloggers got (ie. arrival gifts/personalized items). At the end, your assigned ambassador will make or break your experience, as you will see the same complaints on both message boards about the same thing. In the past, Hyatt's program was vastly superior with proactive emails/management of your trip by your ambassador, and with the workforce being cut down, the program has suffered as a result.

Marriott has a much larger foot print and choices compared to Hyatt, and this is the first step in seeing if Hyatt works for you. No one wants to stay at numerous Hyatt Places, when FT only talks about Park Hyatts all day long. Only chose Hyatt if the footprint works for you.

Differences:
Suite Upgrades Certificates: Marriott (one certificate per night) vs Hyatt (one certificate applies to the entire stay of nights). Hyatt is much more generous. Hyatt is alot easier to get confirmed upgrades months in advanced by contacting the concierge team to ask for availability. Marriott you can choose the room types you want to be upgraded to, and see what the lottery gives you when you check in.

Benefits: Marriott benefits may not be honored by certain properties, while Hyatt has much better consistency, such as late check out for Globalists. Marriott is seemed cheaper/stingier for giving benefits, when compared to Hyatt. Marriott does give you United Airline Silver status, which might be helpful to some. Hyatts are much more knowledgable about what a Globalist means, and quite a few Marriotts that I have stayed had no clue what Ambassador means. In turn, you get better treatment at Hyatts. For Hyatt Globalist award stays, valet parking/resort fees are completely included and not charged while Marriott still charges such fees during award stays. Complimentary breakfast for Hyatt Globalist are much better (125+ USD for 2 people at higher end properties completely wiped off the bill; Marriott is more stringent on what is allowed (typically 20-25 bucks worth of food items).

Lifetime Programs: Marriott just cut down on their lifetime program to Platinum only, and took away option to earn lifetime Titanium. Hyatt still allows Globalist to be achieved, and based on the Hyatt board, lifetime Globalists get treated much better than a normal globalist, which is a win in my book for honoring loyalty.

Overall: Hyatt is more consistent than Marriott and has not cheapened out on top tier benefits. The negative is the small footprint.

Is there a way to see our progress toward lifetime status on the Hyatt site?

Apparently your base point balance is only shown in the monthly statements Hyatt emails you, not on the account area of the website.

You can contact them. Different from Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt do not post what you need. I emailed Hilton and got a response as to what I needed as far as base points and stays to get to lifetime.
