American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

They've done this sporadically in the past as well.

Did one of the entrees have a photo of the new signature meal of the moment box of shelf stable pasta? I just want to know if the photo is of the box or the contents once water is added.

400k and 550k LP can both gift Platinum status as an award. He would be able to do that even if he wasnt CK.

Transfer help at DFW?

Looks like I might have a 'running all the way' connection at DFW tomorrow due to a late inbound for my lhr to DFW flight. Will premium services be able to help with the transfer? If so, where would I expect to meet them? It's an international flight obviously, so I'll have to clear customs and security. There is no precheck at the security gate where customs let's out, I normally go down the terminal to the one smaller security station that has precheck, but lately that has been iffy in terms of time savings. Where could I find a red scarf on the sterile side of the terminal? Any ideas?

Some Renewal Intel

I just got off a phone call with the Executive Liasion desk. Encouraging call. Renewals coming out early/mid-March. The guy was pretty adamant that I would be receiving a renewal given my travel patterns this year. I'll finish right around 1.5M LPs, mostly flying (more than 1.1/1.2), $92K in spend, all in premium cabin. DFW-based.

Probably won't get renewed as I used 30k of left over discounted AirPass funds for the first 1/3-1/2 of the year, being off cycle with AirPass, and ended up with 815K LPs purely on premium flights. Shall see. If hub is a factor, there are only about 10 HNL based CKs. Current spend is about 7-10k/month on AA metal.

But part of me is looking forward to lose CK, so can get abit better schedule returning to HNL from PDX, concentrate more of my flights out of LAX and finally use more funds towards PS Suites.

Premium services at DFW have been non existent of late for CK. The best you can do is call the CK number and ask for a meet and greet. Used to never be a problem but the last 3 times I have gone through, no one around.

I've never had that problem at DFW. American must have changed equipment I had no problem connecting but they still reached out to me...

I'd be surprised if 7-10k per month of spend on AA metal doesn't get you a renewal.

Interesting that you mention PS Suites though. I used their common lounge space once and was wholly unimpressed. Do you feel that their actual private suites are really worth the considerable expense?

Figured I'd waste some time telling my renewal thoughts. RDU based, CK from 2018-early 2023. Decent amount of Asia travel, which is tough on AA. In 2022, had total spend around $55k, but much via codeshare or Oneworld (since at the time... as is still the case... AA stopped flying to Beijing and HK). Exec liaison told me that they wouldn't renew me based on spend, and that they really value AA metal, with codeshares counting much less (and OW/non codeshare basically meaning nothing). They were quite blunt that if their network didn't meet my needs, they understood if I needed to explore other options.

For the current membership year, I'm over 1M LP, 90%+ premium spend. Mix is around $60k AA metal/$30k AA codeshare on CX/JL. I've added several legs to chase CK (think RDU-DFW-NRT-HKG) vs the much more convenient JFK-HKG hop on CX.

I'm very optimistic to be renewed, and the day AA returns to HKG, PEK and other destinations, I'll be there with them.

However, with no renewal, it may finally be time to quickly hit EXP, and status match to other (non OW) carriers and maintain top tier status on a couple airlines. I'm nearing 4M banked AA miles (yes, I know people say they devalue, and I'm burning them as fast as I can and still finding great redemptions), so it would be good to build up a balance on another alliance.

Finger crossed for good news for me in a few weeks!

We shall see if they take into account recent spend data or not....I just have a gut feeling they probably won't count any of the AirPass spend since the fares are heavily discounted when distances are calculated from HNL.

I haven't done the actual private suites yet, and as a solo traveler for business, the common Salon area makes the most sense. When I fly with my wife, I'll give it a try, and was suppose to check it out this past December, but flight changes made it a missed opportunity. For solo domestic travelers, the actual private suites don't make much sense, when a 3 hour lounge cost outweighs the actual ticket cost, then there is something wrong with the calculus from my perspective.

They do offer discounts for repurchased Salon passes, and saves about 100 dollars per visit if you have the yearly membership. Most of the YouTube videos doesn't show an impressive area/hard product in the private suites either, but is a good way for couples/family seeking privacy or want more private space for their kids to roam around with the backyard/patio area.

From my perceptive, it's a great way to get most of CK perks (car transfer/food/avoid the crowds) without having to take AA flights when you don't want to, for the sake of trying to maintain CK status. In essence, if one is LAX based (One of the PS reps mentioned DFW will open Q2/Q3? ), you can have pretty much nearly all of the CK benefits for a $750 per one way premium. Also is a good alternative for folks who can take advantage of business expensing the PS Salon or Suite visits.

YMMV.

Just one more shout-out to the CLT on ground CK team. Was flying CLT > PBI on Wednesday and the plane went MX. Agent called my cell and found me at the gate just before boarding, told me about the MX that was about to be announced, sent me back to the lounge and said he would text me when he knew what was going on. Also protected me on the next PBI flight just in case. He checks in with me 2-3 times over the next hour, get the notification of a gate change as they stole an inbound to replace ours. I text him and ask if I should head that way (it said boarding now) and he says no, it's going to be at least 20-25, I'll send you a text 10 minutes out, which he did.

I got on the ground at PBI in enough time to be only 20 minutes late for my meeting which was manageable. More importantly, CK made me feel incredibly calm and looked after in an MX situation. CLT continues to be probably my favorite CK team (on average).

In the past, when did you usually find out that you were renewed? What month/date?
