American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

I have a question regarding IRROPS assistance through the CK desk. I've unfortunately had multiple flight disruptions/cancellations/missed flights due to weather recently. Historically when this has happened to me, CK help desk reps have been very proactive, contacting me quickly by text and call, prebooking backup or replacement flights, etc, without me having to call them first.

However, over the past month or so, when I've had IRROPS, on more than one occasion no one has contacted me, and I've had to call the CK line to rebook or find a solution. And when I do call, it seems that the reps I've been connected to don't really what to do or what is possible, and they keep telling me to hold while they call the help desk to see what they can or cannot do to resolve the issue. I've also gotten incorrect answers from them after they tell me this, such as telling me there are no seats on a replacement flight when there is, or telling me they cannot book me on another airline, then subsequently doing just that without telling me that they've done that.

I guess my question is, is there actually a different department or desk that specifically deals with IRROPS, and is that the one that used to contact me with a solution already in hand? And if there is a specific "help desk", is there a way for me to contact them directly and not go through the standard CK line first?

So I think this depends a little bit on when the IRROPS occurs. From what a couple of agents have explained to me in the past - they do proactively monitor disruptions and then have a subset of the CK deal agents work the flight issues in an order which they then call you with the solution. Those people are the same agents you’d call using your normal CK number.

The challenge becomes in a large irrops situation - in that case they typically have to call someone internally to release a seat to then place you in it - that’s typically who they have to call out for and I’m pretty sure that’s tied into their internal inventory management/Ops team because they will intentionally block a certain subset of seats for crew movement during irrops. I think they keep that team internal for a reason.

If you connect in T5, as a CK you can use the Concorde Room which also has showers (much better than F Lounge). At times the staff at the lounge check-in doesn't immediately realize that CKs have access as they have to manually override their system. It's therefore well advised to bring your physical CK card.

Aer Lingus don't fly out of T5 and there aren't any showers in the Concorde Room anymore anyways. I'm not 100% sure if you can use the little first room in the arrivals lounge but the shower area is the same regardless. You might be able to use the bath if it's not busy.

I randomly received a notification my Avis status had been upgraded to presidents circle earlier this week. I know Avis has a tie in with AA starting next year, but I didn’t think that started until the new earning year. Is this some new perk for CK for this year? I didn’t rent with Avis at all over the last year, so the only thing I could think of was that it was coming via AA. Any one else get a notification?

Did AA provide us a way to link the accounts?

Not that I know of, however I’ve earned miles through Avis in the past and figured that was how?

I guess we aren't going to hear until the end of the month? Unless some people have already started hearing from AA?

I haven’t heard anything. I’ll be super irritated if I get a denial as I’ve been maxing out on the loyalty points and have credit card spend as well. In the past I’ve received notification if I was trending downward and risk of not re-qualifying. This year there’s been no communication.

yeah they must be behind. Back in December I was told by multiple folks it would be late Jan/Early feb people would get notified but apparently that didn’t happen. I’m curious as to what they will be looking for this year LP wise. I’m at about 1.2 million LP with 1 mill of it being spend on AA metal.

How much of that $1M AA metal spend is actually spend on your own personal tickets where the ticket has your frequent flyer number attached (as opposed to corporate spend on tickets for others)? That's likely to be a big factor. The people who were reported to have hit CK on mostly just loyalty points (rather than flying) seemed to have over 5 million LPs.

100% of it was personal tickets. All 1 million LP from AA metal flying (economy/business both) are on my account only, I never flew with anyone or purchased tickets for anyone.

my other 200k in LP is from airline partner spend and credit card.

I strongly suspect that pure credit card LPs will count at like a penny a piece so 1 million LPs is going to be roughly 10k of usd “credit” in the calculations. They likely won’t give credit for much more than citi/barclays buys the mile from AA for.

it’s tricky though as those cc spend LPs are much more profitable per LP than most flying LPs.

I have 1.75m LPs (only 300k from flying a few trans Atlantic round trips in j ) so mostly personal cc spend. I also burnt like 2m miles recently on award tickets so not sure if that ever matters around the edges (positive or negative).

So it will hard for me to triangulate this year as I have several dials moving.

5m LPs alone should be a good chance based on the temp CK they previously gave for those levels and that it would be like probably 40k plus of profit in those LPs

I think LPs will have little to no influence on CK status. By saying that, 5 million LPs will not be a floor or even a waterline when they look at renewals, at least in my mind. Time will tell here shortly though
