American Airlines ConciergeKeySM / "CK" Program (by invitation only)
(Includes Executive Platinum status and Admirals Club membership)

NOTE: For questions such as "How can I get Concierge Key?" or "This is my spend: will I get CK?" Please refer to the How do I make / making AA Concierge Key / ConciergeKey / CK?thread

Also see AA Concierge Key invitations / renewal for 2019 status (out early 12/2018).

13 Apr 2020: AAdvantage extends CK status is extended automatically until Jan 31, 2022.

"The ConciergeKey Program is an exclusive program that American Airlines has for our very top customers. This is by invitation only and a very exclusive club." (Billy Sanez for AA)

ConciergeKey Services are provided to a select group of VIPs to facilitate travel on AA. The program is offered on an invitation basis only and is targeted at customers who control travel policy for large organizations. Customers who generate a high amount of revenue for AA may also be invited into this program (possibly those who spend upwards of US$60k a year on travel with AA).

Services provided include airport escorts and pre-boarding (seems variable, more likely during OSO?); assistance with flight changes, seat changes, and upgrade requests via their own dedicated telephone line. In addition, there is the ability to communicate directly with ConciergeKey associates via a dedicated email address. ConciergeKeySM representatives will also monitor day of travel of ConciergeKey members and will proactively reroute or rebook travel when necessary. ConciergeKey status allows check-in at First Class counters, as well as access to elite lines through security at certain airports. Miles and copay upgrades with copay waived.

ConciergeKey is now a distinct elite tier, above Executive Platinum. ConciergeKey benefits include membership to the Admirals Club, international miles upgrades with copayment waived, as well as two additional System-Wide Upgrades (SWU's) as part of CK membership.

CK members have access to Flagship Check-in on any flight, and CK will have Flagship Lounge access when flying a OneWorld airline.

As of 1 Jan 2017, Concierge Key members have upgrade requests prioritized over all other tiers: CK members have an upgrade window of (up to) 120 hours (Executive Platinum member's will retain the 100 hour upgrade window). CK members will board ahead of other passengers.

Regarding Concierge Key tier benefits coming in 2017, please see: New Concierge Key Benefits for 2017: New CK Elite Status Tier

Please: do respect members' privacy by refraining from asking for overly personal information and details relating to ConciergeKey membership or nomination. If your question receives no response, consider the member chooses not to reply, as is his/her right.

Boarding Area's AAdvantageGeek's blog shows the card and documents here.

R is revenue or elite upgrade. C is only award, AFAIK. There's no revenue class C anymore. J, R, D, I only.

Apologies. Yes, J (not C). But usually D or I.

Average fare is similar between us but my spend is higher.

Timing for AAdvantage Status Qualification Notifications

I've heard of a few people who have been notified when they've been re-qualified for AAdvantage status. I passed the 200K LP mark earlier this month but have not received an email nor has my account been updated with a requalification date of Feb 2024. Does anyone know how long it takes for AA to send notifications and process account status updates? thanks.

There is a revenue C class, which has not existed for that long and is not filed for all routes.

Yeah, I just learned that this week. Weird how they're using C and R for upgrades and revenue, but I'm sure it's on purpose to obscure upgrade availability.

Any recent LHR transfer experiences for CKs?

We are going through next month. I booked Royal Airport Concierge, my spouse (CK) with a slightly shorter connection has not, under the assumption CK reps will smooth out the process per usual. Just wondering if this is still the case during the summer madness.

I don't remember when I got my CK last round seeing as it was extended due to COVID. Can anyone clarify when CK qualification works for re-upping or is that a mystery?

I'm at around 340k loyalty points, with 2-3 more confirmed f flights this year. Or is it given closer to the end of the qualification period?

i suspect it will not be just based on loyalty points. It will still be mostly the profitability (not just amount) of your aa dollar spend.

In a one variable all credit card spend scenario where someone has a million loyalty points (that actually isn’t unheard at all of on this board and the Facebook EP/CK group) that is only 10 thousand dollars of value to aa assuming that citi paid one cent per mile to aa (they probably paid less). That is like only buying one full fare J round trip ticket to Europe. In fact the flying on that ticket isn’t even as profitable as earning the LPs (pay for the underlying miles) to aa.

Mix of flying LPs and credit card LPs will make it hard to predict one’s ability to qualify as they will never tell us the criteria or how it is weighed.

If it’s going to be LPs only, I believe it’s likely going to be many more than a just million to qualify.

Newly Minted CK!

Hello
Just got confirmed yesterday! So excited in a strange way. Any tips for a new CK!
Couldn’t come at a better time as I prepare to take my family of 5 to Rome via JFK with a tight connection.
Whats the best part of being CK?

Everyone will likely ben slightly different, but mine are:

(1) Preboard before Group 1 (when the gate agents do it right) - when I am traveling with family or my parents (or both) for me this is far and away the biggest benefit (perfect timing for your travel)
(2) The private car tarmac transfers at LHR, my main European gateway airport
(3) Flagship lounge use on any ticket
(4) IRROPS handling (rare, but it does occur, and they proactively rebook me and meet me when I get off the plane - usually)
(5) gift EXP to anyone (this isn’t a constant benefit but they do it every so often)

I assume your LPs are from flying mostly. What is your mix of flying and credit card in your LPs?

None knows yet how credit card LPs will factor into CK qualification. And since you are newly minted it’s a good case to try and isolate what matters in this new LP regime.

700k LP from flying can be 60k usd of rev to AA.

but,

700k LP from just credit card spend would likely be around only 7k usd rev to AA if Citibank paid a penny per mile (they probably pay less).

my working theory is it will take a multiple of millions LP from just credit card spend to qualify for CK under the LP regime, but who knows…
