my last 2 trips - including one booked today for next week- I have been pushed to Qantas because J is sold out on AA LAX-SYD flight. Booking a week out I couldn't get a paid J seat a day before or after my preferred travel dates. I can't believe anybody is clearing this.....will likely loose CK next year because my $30k in j fares on these two trips went to Qantas. Surprised AA doesn't use an aircraft with more J seats on this route.

Data Point - when I last looked on today’s AA72 there were 17-18 on the list and one had shown as cleared right after boarding. Looked to be a couple open seats so perhaps there were more or a few late boarders.

AA73 on Wednesday had 18 on the list. 1 cleared. I was one of the people who got rebooked from the previous days flight that I missed due to WX and crew on an inbound, so it might have been more, but IRROPS ate up some space.

Fun fact: The ancient Romans were advanced when it came to upgrades:
- Abeona, in Roman mythology, is the Goddess of Outward Journeys
- Adiona (Abeona’s partner in Roman mythology), was referred to as the Goddess of Safe Return

Data point on AA72 today. 14 on the upgrade list at the gate, 1 cleared.
flight was J3 at T24. I cleared shortly after that and I assume 1 more since it went to J1. C alert went off ~5 hours ago as well.
