So refreshing to what happens here in the U.S.
It seems that most gate agents will basically allow everyone to board at the same time

I've noticed this too. Even their outsourced handlers like ServisAir very strictly enforce the boarding order!

Absolutely not my experience with BA. Apart from the fact that on their short-haul (European) routes there's effectively no such thing as priority boarding (they call Club Europe and every-single-status-level all at the same time ) I regularly watch pax with no status get waved through as they put of a great show of pretending they've no idea it's not their turn to board.

BA are one of the very worst airlines I've flown for boarding passengers in any sort of order.

I've found BA's gate agents do better at policing early boarding than AA's, but agree that they aren't perfect. Regarding boarding order, when's the last time you flew BA intra-Europe? Since they changed the boarding order earlier this year I've found them much more consistent in the enforcement of it–I've not heard them call all CE+all status at the same time even once since the change.

Yes, and it happens often.

As much as I hate United, there was a flight I had to take where a pax kept trying to jump ahead. Told to wait once and he took a step back and waited till the next group was called and immediately went forward again. The GA decided enough was enough and told the man to stand aside right next to the counter and that he was going to be the last to board. Everyone within earshot cheered and clapped :)

After they board pax with children, those pretending to be children, those accompanying children and those pretending to be accompanying those accompanying children, then the scrum begins.

I never had any problems boarding earlier than my zone when I didn't have elite status. A smile and a polite cheerful greeting goes a long way.
