For discussion about the lack of a Flagship Lounge at DFW, see Why is there no Flagship Lounge / FL at DFW? (consolidated)
Background: The DFW international terminal was previously Terminal A. The A Admirals Club offered both an Arrivals Lounge and a Flagship Lounge. These were closed after 11 September 2001; when the decision to make terminal D the c new in terminal, AA chose to build an expanded Admirals Club and omit both Flagship and Arrivals lounges. There is an AMEX Centurion lounge, and there are The Lounge at DFW and several contract lounges serving several airlines' passengers.
At DFW-A, the old Flagship Lounge still exists and is used for an occasional function or NR passenger; the old Arrivals Lounge is still there, and though no longer in service it's showers -arguably the most spacious and luxurious in the AA system - and small gym remain for knowing passenger's or member's use. Look for these facilities on your immediate left (FL) and right (AL) as you exit the elevators on the second (Club) floor.

AA isn't very clear about this, but are you allowed to dine at the FFD, leave, and come back later for drinks? I was told I wasn't allowed back into the MIA FFD recently (when I came back in after visiting the outdoor TGI Fridays) but would be allowed back in "just this one time."

Yeah, never had an issue at JFK or LAX, only MIA. FWIW it was the lady at the FSL desk (who hands out the invitations) that said it wasn't allowed. Probably could've just walked back in the FFD without asking and not had any problems...

Why is the rule rule same day flights? If I have an overnight connection Im not sure why my experience should be any less premium.

Agreed. But, and I mean this non-judgmentally, people purchasing Five Star to begin with have a very different value calculus than many of us do.

I can be dense, so I just want to ask.
I will be flying HKG JFK in CX F, arriving at 8PM March 27 and I have a AA JFK - CLT flight at 5AM March 28 (separate ticket, economy)
I should have access to JFK FF Dining, per this below rule yes? I am OWE but I dont think that matters.
Departing flight must be marketed and operated by American on the same day (or if connecting before 6 a.m. the following day).
Thank you, MB

I believe the outbound (before 6am) refers to the international flight.
OP - please report back. And good luck.

My understanding is that the rule is specifically to accommodate overnight connections "close to" the first flight out (the rule is 6 AM rather than first flight). I've never seen any restriction that the next-day flight be the international one. I'd be quite surprised if the poster has any question or problem with access.

I was told by one of my favorite servers at one of the Flagship First Dining lounges that AA isn't renewing Sodexo's contract to run the lounges and Host will be taking over in a couple of weeks. It'll be interesting to see how the transfer is managed and what the new product will be like.

And IME most AA lounge agents are confused by this rule and/or just don't enforce the 6am time strictly, especially if you have all your boarding passes and are trying to access a lounge the day before or after.
That said, I would expect FFD to be more strict in general, however still should be no problem as this scenario is within the rules. Obviously since its separate tickets hang on to the CX BP to show for entry.

Has anyone had luck getting a gate pass to renter security for FFD after arriving on an international flight with a domestic connection the following morning?
