Sweet spot for AA redemption?

Looking for an island or water experience out of the USA for a friend in Sept. 2015. Is there something really good miles-wise, similar to the r/t BOS-DUB for 50k in business from British? Traveler is in the middle of the country so departure from anywhere ok.
Thanks for helping a newbie

Welcome to flyertalk. IMO there is nothing as good as the BOS-DUB in J value. However, there are some good options; My favorite MIA-GCM for 4500 Avios in Y 9000 in J (for now) each way. I am located in ATL so I can do 4500 from ATL-MIA in Y (13500 in F). Similar costs from XXX-MIA as there are many cities with service from MIA.

MIA-SJU is 7500 in Y 15000 in J

I am a little intrigued as my parents just joined AAdvantage. But these deals were BA's program right? I searched AA's rewards and didn't find the great deal. Are there any great ideas for AAdvantage members?

BAEC uses a distance-based redemption scheme; AA uses a zone-based redemption scheme. Short-haul flights on AA typically cost less with BA Avios than with AA miles.

Business and First Class redemptions with AA miles to Asia on CX and JL can be very good value.
