advice ? possible Weather cancellation on Eagle
Hello
Tomorrow, Saturday Jan-3, my family and I (spouse and two kids) have a flight out of an airport which has had the airport closed (San Angelo SJT) the last few days due to Winter Storm Frona. American Eagle is the ONLY option in/out of this airport, with service to DFW. We will then get on another flight the next day (we did this purposely) to the final destination via American Airlines 737. I assume that a back-log of travelers exists here in San Angelo due to the recent days of airport being closed. If our Eagle flight is cancelled, what options do you recommend ? Attempt to fly out on a later flight ? Rent a one-way rental car and drive to Dallas ? Can I expect a refund or compensation on my cancelled flight ? Rebooking fees ? Sorry for the 20 questions, the family is getting restless and I am turning to this forum. Thank You |
SJT is open and operating, w/an AA flight due in at noon.
The weather tomorrow (Sat 1/3) should be much better than today. If the flight is straight out cancelled and you opt not to accept AAs rebooking, then indeed you'll get your $$ back. If the flight is cancelled, the chances are great that there won't be many available seats for rebooking the same day, esp to accommodate a party of 4 - so - if I absolutely had to back in Dallas by Sunday, I'd probably opt for the rental car. |
As AA and US are still largely operating as separate airlines, you've posted in the wrong forum (the Announcement at the top of the page explains where to post).
Please read, in the AA (pre-merger forum): Weather delays, system IRROPS, policy, resources etc. (winter 2014-15) We'll probably move this there, but in the meantime the thread contains some valuable information. Happy travels and new year. /Moderator |
