IMO I think I'd still take this over UA...where the int'l J meals are the same ones served from 4-5 years ago.

Even though it's been around for nearly a year, this was my first time in AA's updated business class cabin on the 763s:

amazing views departing Zurich:

bring back the seafood starter please! the hummus does not cut it.

The crew was amazing! I asked if they could do their best not to overcook the steak - and what came out was a PERFECT medium-rare and flavorful piece of meat. I would have seriously been happy ordering this entrée at a steakhouse. Also - note there's no foil ramekin in sight!

pre-arrival charcuterie plate:

A taste of Asia
This spring, you’ll see refreshed meal selections in the premium cabin and the addition of an appetizer and new noodle tray in the Main Cabin on flights between the U.S. and Japan. Over the coming months, we’ll continue making improvements to meals on all flights to Asia.
Too late. I've already booked 3 paid TPACs in J on another (Asian) airline after seeing the brutal reviews of AA's downgraded food in J. I would have flown AA due to the more convenient routing, but the difference in product quality has become so vast that I would rather take an extra connection than fly AA TPAC.

I wouldn't be surprised. The gulf in product quality between AA and JL is vast and poses a real problem for the joint marketing of AA and JL's flights. JL now has (IMHO) the best J product in the world, and AA has one of the worst (maybe THE worst on the 772s with the angled seats).

From last night's 2155 DFW-LHR, choices of:

Spinach Stuffed Ravioli
Topped with smoked Gouda crème

Blackened Salmon
With Creole rice, broccolini and roasted corn relish

Char Siu Duck
With curry lime sauce, coconut rice and sautéed spinach

Coffee Crusted Beef Filet
With red wine sauce, roasted potatoes and sautéed spinach

started with fresh spring rolls with hoisin glaze and mixed greens with sun-fried tomatoes, toasted pine nuts and parmesan cheese

Dessert was choice of Heath Bar Crunch ice cream, gourmet cheese plate, or a raspberry tart.

Everything in this meal was great except the spring rolls. Just ate one of those as they're not the type of spring roll I'm used to and the flavors didn't work for me.

Breakfast was choice of scrambled eggs over a buttermilk biscuit with pobalno cream sauce, potatoes au gratin and a New Mexico chicken sausage or a fresh fruit bowl with granola and Greek yogurt. Can't recall ever having this for breakfast in the past so it might be a new dish.

The scrambled eggs/biscuit/sausage with poblano cream sauce breakfast dish is a legacy AA breakfast. I recall having it on an ORD-DUS flight once. Glad to see that back.

Tom911, was this 2-class or 3-class J?

It was a 2 class 767-300 with the old configuration. Two passengers to my left were moved to this flight from a cancelled BA flight - think one said from LAX, so business was 100% full. The ravioli the passenger next to me had looked pretty good, too.

Tom in Dublin tonight

Ah, okay. Disappointing to see that sundaes has disappeared from 2-class J on longer eastbound flights.

Well, in any event, 2 or 3 class, there's no time to serve a Sundae on LAX-LHR ...

That's the exact same menu for my upcoming DFW-GRU 77W J.

Did you see the duck? Was curious about it, not sure I trust airplane duck

Your breakfast didn't look bad IMO.
