AAdvantage Aviator Silver and Red Cards from BarclayCard
There are five AAdvantage-linked Aviator-branded cards by Barclaycard. Two of them can be applied for directly, the other three are upgrades or downgrades after receiving a Red card. The Many Flavors of Barclaycard AAdvantage Aviator
Where can I see information on all available Barclays Barclaycard AAdvantage cards?
Aviator Red (On AA.com)
Aviator Silver (On AA.com)
Aviator Business (On AA.com)
Red cardholders may receive an offer to upgrade to Aviator Silver after a period of time that varies, usually 3-11 months. The offer appears in the online "Offers" section, if it is declined there may be no simple way to receive the upgrade. Be careful with your clicking! Silver benefits begin at the start of the next statement, but the increased annual fee won't hit until the next card-member year starts.

Run a test for $25 and see what happens - once the transaction posts to your account, you can see the miles earned on the main Barclays transaction page, regular desktop browser version.

No first hand experience, but it "should" in theory - bought AA gift card with Amex (due to deal) and it coded as Airline and got the requisite bonus miles. I would think the same logic applies for the Barclays card.

I am microscopically close to $50K spend on the Silver card. I will go over my EQM's and EQD's for Plat Pro on December 5, and my statement date is December 6. I will not be traveling again in 2018.
What I want is the additional 3K EQD to post as late in the year as possible, so that they will carry over for 12-month rolling EQD's as long as possible.
Do I accomplish this by putting the last few dollars on the credit card on or after December 7?

I've got the red Aviator card (was originally the USAir card) and don't really need the free checked back as I rarely fly AA and, if I do, I use carry on. My AF is now due again and I'm wondering what I could downgrade to. Or if there's a perk I'm missing. I like the idea of the reduced mileage awards, but they never match up with my travel. And I don't put enough spend on this card for other bonuses (though that's changing anyway, I think). So I guess my main question is what are the downgrade options?

Anyone have a data point on how long it takes to get the $100 credit once you hit the spend threshold? Is it mailed to you or emailed?

It would be a credit either on the statement where you meet the spend threshold or the next one. If it's the next one, you haven't put more charges on it, and have a credit balance on the statement, you could expect to receive a check; I'm not sure how soon.

If you're asking about a promotion/retention offer (e.g., $100 after spending $1000 each month for 3 months), that's a statement credit that typically comes on the next billing cycle or so after the promotion ends (e.g., a recent offer ended on Sept. 30th and the credit appeared on my bill issued Nov. 6th).

Silver Card Retention Offer for 2019?
AF for my Silver card will be posted in January. I don't see a compelling reason to renew this card for $195 since they downgraded of the EQD benefit. I imagine many Silver card holders feel the same way. So are they making any significant retention offer this year?
AA and barclay's said new benefits will be announced in for the Silver card. Any insider knowledge on those benefits? I cannot think of anything possible as valuable as EQD. They cannot offer Admirals Club access, but they might be able to offer Flagship Lounge access. Do you think it possible?
