DFW / Dallas - Ft. Worth International Airport Layover Information and Discussion
Q. What is the easiest / fastest way to get around the terminals or to my departure terminal?
The SkyLink airside elevated train is reached by escalators or lifts/elevators, travels in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions with two minutes' headway. The average SkyLink ride is 5 minutes, the longest 9 minutes. You shouldn't require more than 10-15 minutes gate to gate.

There is a fitness center in the A or C Admirals Club. A workout, shower and shave and you'll be a new man.

Isnt an issue. Regular Uber and UberBlack will be available. However i dont remeber if there's any issue paying since DFW requires paying a toll to drive to.

Thanks. Payment shouldn't be an issue, I've taken uber to DFW before and I remember it was just an additional toll fee added to my ride.

I am 3 for 4 at DFW having Uber drivers go to the wrong level (yes, I followed the Uber app instructions on where to meet) or otherwise get lost trying to find me. Terminal A seem especially bad.
Edit: They all eventually found me; it just took longer than expected.

My wife and I will be having a long layover at DFW, arriving 0830 and departing 1900 on an international J flight. We have a day room at the Grand Hyatt, and we also have access to AA and Centurion lounges.
My question is about the advisability of leaving the airport after we shower and freshen up, and heading into Dallas or somewhere else? I've never been to Dallas, and wonder what this community might recommend. I figure that after checking into the hotel and freshening up, we might be ready by 11:00. We would want to get back to the airport by 1700, so we would have about six ours of time for traveling to and from DFW to wherever we might go.
I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance.

Better bet: Catch the light-rail outside of Terminal A. Head to downtown Dallas. See the Grassy Knoll, the 6th Floor museum, the amazing sculpture "The Cattle Drive". Go to the top of Reunion Tower and look down

Do you plan to rent a car? If so, that could eat up two of your six hours.

You might have time to check out an art museum. Stand outside one of the tall buildings and pretend that you're J.R. Ewing. Grab a nice meal in the West End, then catch the train back to the airport. If anyone asks you if you've been to Dallas, you can truthfully reply, "BEEN there, DONE that"
