● Admirals Club has reciprocity agreements for access under specified conditions to Alaska Airlines Board Room, Qantas Club, and some individual lounges (e.g. DUB, DUS, FRA, MXP, ZRH etc. Please use the Lounge Dashboard "sticky" thread to easily find the threads discussing these other airline lounge access requirements and to the master threads pertaining to specific lounges. (These do not apply to One Dap Pass holders.)

● Note: Members are able to contact Admirals Club Member Services (see below) 24 hours in advance even when not flying and request gate passes for themselves and others meeting at an Admirals Club for business purposes:

[quote]VISITING THE Admirals Club WHEN NOT FLYING

Members not flying can access Clubs when they have airside access and the airport doesn’t restrict lounge access to departing passengers.

Members can not secure a gate pass from a ticket agent.

Members can not secure a gate pass with merely "declared business purpose" for themselves and others any longer (14 Sep 2016).

Members and non-members can schedule and attend business meetings in the Admirals Club® or Executive Center without traveling if they have rented a conference room in a Club with such and are registered on the daily meeting list. See below.

This requires arrangements at least 24 hours in advance.

FAQ link including a Club access.

Q. I am a member and would like to meet someone at the airport, but I'm not flying today. Can I get through Security to get to the Admirals Club lounge?

A: No. Only those registered in advance and attending a conference in a rented conference room may have access. Casual access / walking up to the ticket counter to request a gate pass is not permitted; please do not put employees in an uncomfortable position by asking.

To do so you must :
  • Present a valid government I.D.
  • Have your name on the daily meeting list
To add names of those attending an event in a rented conference room to the daily meeting list, call at least 24 hours in advance:
  • Admirals Club number/AAdvantage® number
  • Legal name as it appears on government issued identification for each individual
  • Birth dates, including year, for each individual (maximum of two guests allowed for non-conference room meeting)*
  • Location, date and time of non-conference room meeting
We will arrange for Security clearance with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to allow you to get to the lounge. This opportunity is available for Admirals Club members only (and their authorized guests), and you will be required to show your Admirals Club membership card, along with a government-issued photo ID.

*(Times corrected to current service center hours)

Q. CAN I PUR HASE A FULLY REFUNDABLE AA TICKET FOR ACCESS?

It's honestly not a good idea, as this practice is specifically prohibited by American Airlines' Conditions of Carriage (Link):

American specifically prohibits practices commonly known as:

...Fraudulent, fictitious and abusive bookings: Fraudulent, fictitious and/or abusive bookings are prohibited. These types of bookings are defined as ... or to gain access to airport facilities....

"* Here are the rules…I work at the Club

1. Only the primary card holder is a member. Note the word member... The member is allowed to bring in 2 guests Or immediate family which cannot exceed 2 people over 18 and all children under 18. For example John cannot bring in his wife, his 2 daughters and their husbands. He can bring in 2. If his daughters are under 18 they do not count toward the guest count of 2...

2. Our computers tell us if one is an authorized user. (Your AAdvantage number and if you are a cardholder in good standing - jd.)

AC agents here in the US or other OW lounge dragons across the world are very well used to seeing JGC credit cards as a lounge entry card from JAL elites.

I don't see why not a CitiExec Card that acts as an AC card would be any different than that.
JAL issues a separate JGC membership card with corresponding OW status on it. They don't just get a credit card. I have never seen anyone pulling out a JGC credit card to get lounge access. Are you saying this because you have seen people pulling out this card at non-JAL lounges across the world and the lounge dragons immediately recognize it and grant the passenger lounge access?

Citi Executive AAdvantage® World Elite MasterCard® Admirals admit issues

Beware AA Citi Exec AA World Elite MC EMV cards missing AC logo refused entry at MIA!

Be warned if you are getting one of the new cards with the EMV chip. The back of the card is now missing the AC logo. I was refused entry at the MIA AC due to this. The attendant kept pushing a color laminated picture of the card with the logo on the back at me saying I did not understand and that I had to have the card as pictured. I explained to her that the front of the card matched all the huge posters they had displayed in the club and it clearly had the full name of the card written on the front. She refused to budge. Fortunately I still have the old card at home and will now carry both as a precaution until they get this sorted out.

Just a word to the wise. I called citi and complained about this as well. Citi said they would take note and look into it further.

I hope that you got the agent's name & reported it to Citi & AA. Typical of MIA. worst staff aattitude in the system. I'd ask for a statement credit as compensation.

I learned in an recent pass through DFW that the AAngel has been told to swipe the card 2-3 times for it to register properly. Did they swipe your card through their terminal?

If the card does not match the details that the agent has been given to identify the credit card that allows access, then it is not the agents fault but AA/Citibank's surely; going to report that the agent for just following procedure that was given to follow ?

Sounds like the agent was actually just doing her job and seems unreasonable to use that to insult Miami staff

Reporting that the card layout has changed and ensuring that they know to update the info to lounges is def needed and perhaps a claim for any 1 day pass costs incurred

As a member I am entitled to admittance and there are huge posters
Everywhere with the card front. The name is clearly visible
And matches the name on their laminated card. It was lazy on
Their part to refuse to look up any info or call a supervisor to
Research it further.

it's a shame that MIA gets a bad rap in terms of bad service and shoddy behaviors... there's a lot of hub-legacy to bank on in MIA that AA has not fully taken advantage. PanAm, National, Eastern to name a few... it's like there's this sense of entitlement from the majority of AA employees I come into contact. BehAAviors are lackluster at best... permiating all the way into the Miami-Dade staff too - case in point, inter-terminal TrAAin stops working at midnight and in my red-eye flights arriving into D49, the wait is over 10 mins most of the time... the only saving grace is the TSA pilot program that AA has going for some EXPs

Nope she would not even try. She kept smiling and
Shoving the laminated sheet at me. To which I kept
Insisting that it is the same card with the same front.
