Boeing 767-300 / 763 Thompson Vantage Business Seat Map, Best Seats
I'm looking at the J class seat map on a few AA64/65 pairs in June. On some dates (e.g. 3 resp. 4 June, 5 resp. 6 June) it shows A/DG/J, starting with row 2 and ending with row 8 (i.e. 7 rows).
Now this looks very much like the new J layout on the 77W. However, the aircraft type shows 763. Also, on the 77W there are many more rows than just the 7 displayed. Also my understanding is that there are no plans to refurbish the 763 planes with new J. So what?
Could it be that it is a 787, which is due to be delivered(?). Or are they actually refurbishing some of the 763 fleet?

As American Airlines is still operating as a distinct entity, this question is being moved over to the pre-merger American Airlines forum.
Please note the sticky at the top of the consolidated thread which is titled Welcome to the New American Airlines Forum! PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING. With all of the changes about, it is important to know where to post, and reading that thread before posting (as the title suggests
) will help get you in the right place.
Please also note that I've updated the thread title to be clear that this is not a rogue 787.

AA's first 787 isn't due for delivery until late 2014, so if you're looking at a seat map for a June flight, it's not a 787.

Looks like the new config will have 28 J seats, with 1 row of MCE taken out from the mini section before the lavs and galleys.
While it's nice the number of J seats won't be dramatically reduced, it's unfortunately we're losing some MCE seats. (Especially considering some of the remaining MCE seats are the exit row seats in Row 20 with limited recline.)

With the introduction of one or more refurbished 763s, I'm wondering if AA will start blocking the entire Row 11, as they did with Row 10 when they first introduced the 763s with MCE.
