DFW-PVG and DFW-HKG Starting Summer 2014 [route discussion]
 

DFW-PVG and DFW-HKG will be launched next summer. 777-300ER to be used on the HKG flight. Text below:

"New Asia service: We plan to add new nonstop service from Dallas-Fort Worth to Hong Kong and Shanghai beginning summer 2014. The Hong Kong flight will mark our first Asia service on our world-class Boeing 777-300ER, which we currently fly to both London and Sao Paulo. American will be the first airline to operate nonstop service to these cities from Dallas-Fort Worth, which will offer customers one-stop connections between Hong Kong and Shanghai and the Americas via our largest hub.

More 777-300ER service: We will deploy additional 777-300ER aircraft to our fleet in 2014, for a total of 16 of the 20 aircraft on order."

Would love to see an official AA announcement, but still, FINALLY!!!!^^^

About 7 Years overdue, but this will really make my day :) :) :)

this flight will also be known as ShF and family re-qualifying flight express hehehe ;)

Depending on the schedule, this will make it easier to connect to flights in SE Asia.

I'm guessing this is why the president of AA visited the head of the Chinese CAAC in Beijing last week.

Heheh... They mention JFK-HND, and then they're going to pull the rug out from under you.

I just look forward to finally be able to fly to HKG direct and free, even if it is in the rather cramped back of the bus.

Bahaha, I won't be surprised if I fly that 4-6 times a year now :)
Very happy to see the service, need to see what date is the inaugural but would love to be on it if possible.
I have the feeling DFW-HKG just became the hardest route to burn a EVIP the moment they fly it.

HKG on AA metal is very, very good news.

Finally!! This is really exciting news. Now, if I can only burn my SWUs on this flight... Something tells me that it's going to be really popular

Will there no longer be any AA service to Asia from NY?

Schedule will be as under, subject to approvals:

Departing Dallas 12:40PM arriving Hong Kong 6:00PM (+1 day)
Departing Hong Kong 1:30PM arriving Dallas 4:30PM

Departing Dallas 10:55AM arriving Shanghai 2:55PM (+1 day)
Departing Shanghai 4:55PM arriving Dallas 2:55PM
