Seatmaps on aa.com show 2-4-2 config on rows 20 & 21, whereas Seatguru showing 3-4-2 - which is correct?

From reading through this thread, I guess there is no answer to this question. But, wondering if anyone knows how main cabin extra is going to work on this 77W. For JFK to Heathrow in late June. Rows 16-19 are blocked and I'm assuming these will be Premium Economy. As others have mentioned, there are three center rows of MCE in the back of the plane. Looking at the map, how can these have extra leg rooms, but, not the window seats on either side? The site that show seat configurations, shows this configuration. But, it's not updated for the premium economy and the change in the MCE seats.

And here is the map:

presently booked in seat 17A/C should we switch to 18? I was curious if 18 reclines as far as 17 being that its the last row in this section

would you pick 18 a/c over 17 on 777-300. my only concern is if the seat reclines - not sure if there is a wall behind 18 or if area where people stand and grab on back of the seat

Is there any way to know what shows and movies are available in MCE? Also, how reliable is the wifi?

Seatguru shows 3-4-3. Both are correct. The old/current 77W config has that row in a 3-4-3 config, the new PE version is 2-4-2.

There's no difference between the planes or classes as far as entertainment goes (as long as there's in-seat AVOD). You can see what's available here: American Airlines - Entertainment Online
As far as I know, it's up to date.

Question.

I'm checking the seats map of a recently booked flight from JFK to LHR on a 77W

I was able to select seat 20D as a BA Gold. However on the map I can't see any seat between row 16 and 19. They're not blocked, they're not even shown. Do you know why?

Would it be better to call?

When is your flight? After mid June, the seats are sold as PE, so you wouldn't see them unless you were booked in PE.

I see, thanks. It's in July.

20D is the best I can get then, I expect.

Back with a new question: what seat should I choose now that they have opened up 16-19, ie they will not have premium economy? I am confused about the 2-4-2 configuration.

That looks to me like they will have PEY on this flight but are selling it as MCE -- so jump on it!

Hellllll yeaaaaaaa I grabbed 16 D and E! Think I am better off with the A and C? Just can't stand people standing in front of me for the bathroom.

Looking for advice. Family of 3. Originally booked on one of these in June in bulkhead MCE with premium economy blocked. Switched to 772, which for the time being still has 9 across MCE in June. Am I better off with 9 across MCE (we have our own section of 3) or should I switch back to the 77W and get the premium economy being sold as MCE? There would be 3 of us in a section of 4. Otherwise, it would be an easy decision.

PE looks so much better to me I would chance it, but also this is my first long haul ever.
