ARCHIVE: Which 777-200ER / "772"? J, MCE, PEY, 45J to 37J
3 Attachment(s)
NOTE: Which Business seats a particular aircraft has is fairly opaque on aa.com’s seat charts.
If the available (blue) seats have a notch in the front signifying aft (backward) facing seats, it’s a Zodiac “Concept D” Business Suite equipped aircraft. If the available (blue) seats have NO notch in the front on any seat (are perfectly square, as they all face forward at an angle), it’s a B/E Aerospace Super Diamond Solo equipped aircraft. Sequentially below: Zodiac 37 J aircraft cabin. Zodiac 45 J Business cabin (truncated view; being refitted to 37 J) Super Diamond 37 J Business cabin |
Which 777-200ER / "772"? J, MCE refits done. PEY, 45J to 37J under way.
^ Thanks for the update!
Looks like my flight to EZE will be on an aircraft with the superdiamond. I originally picked 1H and 1L assuming the Concept D seats, for the movement issues and the (limited) ability to face my husband versus a stranger. Should we just move into row 2D/2H? Or go with 1L and 2L? Limited information on the superdiamond, but it seems it's difficult to talk to anyone directly? Even in Envoy (Cirrus) a window, and aisle seat could talk relatively OK. Flight looks empty so perhaps it won't matter much anyways. Any help is appreciated. |

I have a couple of questions about my upcoming flight, I am sure they are elementary to the experts on this thread so thanks in advance for the help.
I am on 281 on January 1 from DFW-ICN. It appears to be N753AN https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n753an 1. According to the Wiki, it shows this as the super diamond seats and forward facing but the seat map shows a forward/rear facing config. Is that just a quirk in the seat maps or is is really forward/rear facing? 2. Anyone have experience with internet on the newly configured aircraft? Performance and cost info? Thanks and appreciate all the good info in this thread, not sure how you guys keep up on all this stuff. |

Having flown the Refurb&77W back to back... I actually liked the Refurb better. Call me crazy.
More privacy in the reverse. the only downside is that the screen is further away. |

The BE configured planes show a forward/rear facing seats as if it's the Zodiac version on the seatmaps.

Yes, I am on the plane now and it is definitely forward facing even though it shows rear facing seats on the seat map. I like the setup with the exception of two things. First, the tray table even when pulled all the way forward is too high to work from comfortably. Second, it doesnt appear that you can move the seat forward independently without reclining the seat back or raising the leg rest. I like to sit mostly upright and use the stationary foot rest but cant find any way of getting it to that position. The seat is very comfortable from a cushion perspective though so when I get ready to take a nap I am sure it will be great. Internet is $19 by Panasonic and it kind of sucks, basic browsing only.
Were you in a center seat? Let us know what you thought about the privacy (or presumptive lack thereof) when you have a chance. |

Also did find that it was hard to reach the footrest without reclining. There was no fwd/back adjustment like there is on the CX seat, for example. And because the screen is stationary and does't flip out like the CX version, it creates a fully enclosed cubby for your feet when in bed position. Even though our flight came about because of a missed connection to JL11 the prior day, had a really good overall experience. Meals were decent, very good crew and a great hard product. |
N793AN returned to the active fleet on Jan 4 while N775AN made its way to HKG bringing the refurb completion rate to 60%.
|
The seats are generally fine. However not being able to completely tuck away the table was bothersome.
|
Am on N765AN now and can sadly note that it is a Concept D 37J bird, not the BE seats... thankfully 7L is a great seat in either config but really missing the storage of the BE seats.
