Q. What does lifetime AAdvantage Platinum and lifetime AAdvantage Gold status mean for me?
A. For the life of the AAdvantage Platinum and Gold programs, you will continue to enjoy the rewards and recognition of that elite level regardless of your annual elite-qualifying activity.
Q. Which miles will count for the AAdvantage Million Miler program?
A. "Miles earned toward Million Miler status are based on the distance of your flight for travel on American marketed flights or the base miles earned for travel on eligible partner marketed flights.” (Literally, “butt in seat” miles flown on qualifying revenue flight.)
Q. How can I track my progress toward reaching AAdvantage Million Miler status?
A. AAdvantage Million Miler activity is displayed in the members' AAdvantage account on aa.com separately from award miles so progress toward reaching this special designation can be easily tracked.

Thank you for posting and reminding some of us about this. From what I know, on AA it is flight miles flown while on partner airlines it is base miles that count toward MM.

Just to double check - actual miles flown on British Airways (with AAdvantage account being credited by entering my AA number in my BA reservations) will count?
I'm finding myself flying on BA quite a bit these days, and for various reasons works out better if these are ticketed though BA rather booked through AA ( codeshare to BA metal)
just want to make sure these BA flights are being counted then as I am getting close to a million miles....

0.5 x of actual miles. ? that is odd. shouldn't it be base miles of BA flight, even if coach?

E.g. flying BA marketed flights, H, K, L, M, N, S, V earn 50% of Base Miles. 50% of 1 EQM. But you’re calculating the EQM on 50% of the Base Miles.
Flying G, O, Q fares you earn 0.5 EQM based on 0.25 Base Miles counted per mile flown.
Only B, Y coach fares earn at 1.0 Base Miles and 1.0 EQM.
Thar means only flying full Y or B coach / World or Euro Traveller fares will earn one MM mile per mile flown.

Read through the thread, but did not see this asked.
If you are lifetime gold or platinum, how do yearly EQMs and EQDs work? Do you only need the difference between levels to attain the status? Or do you start at 0?
Example (before new lower 2020 requirements were posted):
Lifetime gold (on 1/1/2020)
Do you need 50K EQM and $6K EQD to reach platinum? Or do you only need 25K EQM and $6K EQD to go from gold to platinum? Or possibly 25K EQM and $3K EQD?
