Notes about Giftcards.com:
  • A separate thread exists for discussing Giftcards.com and likely has more data points than this generic thread.
  • Purchases from giftcards.com earn miles on the first $2,000 spent in the named calendar month, meaning for example between March 1st and March 31st. [Note: as of Aug 2023, the $2k limit is per order, not per purchase]
  • Giftcards.com has had various limits over the years, and it was always by calendar month.
  • Some data points show the $2,000 monthly limit is not always enforced. [Note: as of Aug 2023, the $2k limit is per order, not per purchase]
  • In 2022, larger orders track more slowly, and you may need to wait a full month to see miles. Strong advice from the thread is to make multiple small purchases (say under $300) rather than large ones to avoid the dreaded "manual review"
(Copied from the LP thread wiki): Once you click through the AAdvantage eShopping portal to a vendor offer and make a purchase, you will eventually get the associated miles posted to your AAdvantage account as both redeemable miles and Loyalty Points. If the merchant advertises an increase in the miles per dollar spent, you'll earn the higher amount in both redeemable miles and an equal number of Loyalty Points. The same applies if a merchant advertises a higher fixed amount per purchase, rather than a per dollar amount. Examples of this would appear on the portal as, "Extra miles. Was 1 mile/$. Now earn 3 miles/$" or "Extra miles. Was up to 3700 miles. Now up to 6200 miles." However, if the website advertises a "Limited-time bonus offer" for "bonus miles" after meeting a spending threshold, that bonus will only post as redeemable miles and not Loyalty Points. If a bonus is offered for some site-wide activity such as 1000 miles for installing an extension, or 500 miles for enrolling in the portal, or 2000 miles for meeting a spending threshold across multiple merchants, the bonus will only post as redeemable miles and not Loyalty Points.

Some anti-virus software silently blocks tracking, and you may want to consider disabling it for your purchase.

Searched upstream and found most reported posting within a few days. Took the plunge and signed up this morning with a 5000 LP offer expiring today and first delivery next week.

Most likely won't keep it beyond the first try, unless it's very, very, easy. Alot of moving parts with picking/skipping meal dates, etc. Plus, actually having to cook. I pretty much live on takeout / delivery. The most cooking my kitchen has seen in years is an occasional frozen pizza or a microwave reheat or meal. But will give it a fair shot.

Has anyone been able to sign up for WSJ, if they already have an affiliated email address? or a prior account?

I had WSJ account for a while during the pandemic but cancelled it maybe two years ago. The account was not through AA; I'd booked them directly. Although I cancelled the paid subscription, I did stay on their mailing list for the free daily news snips.

So fast forward to now & I can't resubscribe a paid account through AA. When I input my info, it redirects me to my current direct 'account'. (I didn't even realize I still had an actual account. However, apparently because I'm subscribing to a free mailing list, it isn't letting me add a paid subscription through a vendor.) This morning I unsubscribed from the daily mailing list.

Should that fix it in a few days?

If you want easy, select their meals labeled "Ready to Cook." They really are easy and most of them have been delicious. Usually you just have to dump the ingredients in the provided aluminum tray, mix, cover with foil and stick them the oven. My husband and I have really enjoyed the gnocchi ready to cook meals.

Is anyone else having a delay in Cartera LPs being posted to the AA account since Friday? What time do they usually post on AA.com on Mondays?

I don't think I usually get postings over the weekend.

Usually, once confirmed by Cartera, it shows up in my AA.com account the next ~evening (US central time) (M-F).

My experience with Blue Apron was that the miles posted after 5 weeks. Sent an inquiry for manual review and Cartera reconfirmed that it would post after 5 weeks (and it did). YMMV, but this was my experience.

I am having the same experience. I'm currently waiting out my 5 weeks of LP purgatory . Hopefully I get the LPs that correspond with my sign up date for Blue Apron.

Add others have said, they should post after the 5 weeks. My order tracked right away but has not posted yet (it's been less than a week; I haven't even gotten my first order yet)

Just make sure that you have an order tracking in the recent store visits within a couple of days. Until then you should have a store visit but no order associated with it.

Did your's track showing 5,000 miles?
I placed my order this morning and it tracked as Pending but shows Eligible Amount of $0.00 and 0 Miles.

I think we are using different definitions of "tracked". I'm talking about an order showing up in the recent store visits. There is no amount of miles listed there on that screen.

Mine shows up in recent store visits with the full pre-discount purchase amount. It has not gone to pending status yet, and I wouldn't expect it to until the subscription has been active for 5 weeks.

Ahhh gotcha. I was looking at the 'Recent Transactions' tab. I clicked on the 'Recent Store Visits' tab you referenced and see the full pre-discount purchase amount as well.

I'm a little surprised that you are seeing anything under "recent transactions". Is the order number the same as on the store visits? Did you subscribe to the ongoing service (not just make a single one-off order)?

giftcards.com

Since giftcards.com has returned to AA Shopping, my visits are getting recorded, but I'm not getting any credit. I've tried closing Chrome completely, restarting my computer and using a fresh window, then I tried the same with Microsoft Edge. Yes, I'll submit support tickets, but that's a pain to do every time and it's still no guarantee of anything. In the past, I'd get the tracking email within minutes of placing the order and the points would post in a couple of days. Anyone else having similar issues? Or is it just too soon?

Nope. Do you have some kind of tracking prevention disabled? I suggest using Chrome in incognito mode and ensuring that none of your add-ons (except maybe the eshopping button, if you use it) have permission to run in incognito mode. This works for me. Make sure you close all incognito windows before each visit (this deletes all data from previous incognito windows, ensuring that your session is "clean")

Usually orders track within 4-12 hours of the purchase, and post 1-2 days later. They are faster this year than they were last year IME.
