American Airlines is not the contact for Cartera / AAdvantage eShopping .

AAdvantage eShopping FAQs and an e-contact form can be found via the "Contact Us" link at the bottom left corner of the home page.

If you have trouble getting purchases to track, there's also a browser extension to help.

Notes about Giftcards.com:
  • A separate thread exists for discussing Giftcards.com and likely has more data points than this generic thread.
  • Purchases from giftcards.com earn miles on the first $2,000 spent in the named calendar month, meaning for example between March 1st and March 31st. [Note: as of Aug 2023, the $2k limit is per order, not per purchase]
  • Giftcards.com has had various limits over the years, and it was always by calendar month.
  • Some data points show the $2,000 monthly limit is not always enforced. [Note: as of Aug 2023, the $2k limit is per order, not per purchase]
  • In 2022, larger orders track more slowly, and you may need to wait a full month to see miles. Strong advice from the thread is to make multiple small purchases (say under $300) rather than large ones to avoid the dreaded "manual review"
(Copied from the LP thread wiki): Once you click through the AAdvantage eShopping portal to a vendor offer and make a purchase, you will eventually get the associated miles posted to your AAdvantage account as both redeemable miles and Loyalty Points. If the merchant advertises an increase in the miles per dollar spent, you'll earn the higher amount in both redeemable miles and an equal number of Loyalty Points. The same applies if a merchant advertises a higher fixed amount per purchase, rather than a per dollar amount. Examples of this would appear on the portal as, "Extra miles. Was 1 mile/$. Now earn 3 miles/$" or "Extra miles. Was up to 3700 miles. Now up to 6200 miles." However, if the website advertises a "Limited-time bonus offer" for "bonus miles" after meeting a spending threshold, that bonus will only post as redeemable miles and not Loyalty Points. If a bonus is offered for some site-wide activity such as 1000 miles for installing an extension, or 500 miles for enrolling in the portal, or 2000 miles for meeting a spending threshold across multiple merchants, the bonus will only post as redeemable miles and not Loyalty Points.

If it's being declined by Citi then you need to call Citi. Tell them you had a declined order and ask why. This has nothing to do with the shopping portal.

Ive used other cards on the portal and it worked. I had to meet the minimum spend on a new card and figured I could also get miles and LPs while making a large purchase.

I already called Citi... twice - this was of course my first course of action, but Citi told me (twice) that nothing is wrong with my account and they blame Adidas..... Im just caught in the middle trying to buy stuff, pay and get the darned miles.... grrrrr

The fraud AI at adidas has flagged the order for whatever reason. Cant link phone, maybe new phone different billing vs shipping. I had issue when we moved. Bottom line is that their fraud department needs to verify the card via phone with you. Stupid but thier programs are doing it.

AT&T Wireless terms

I'm considering switching to AT&T wireless to take advantage of this "Add a line" offer:
Switch to AT&T or current customers adding a new line (non-iPhone) to an existing plan Was 3700. Now 6200 miles
However, in the "Merchant Mileage Terms" on the left side of the screen there is additional general language about new customers and mileage earning that gives me pause:

Special terms: Eligible for new customers only when purchasing a new device on AT&T Next Program.
"AT&T Next" seems to be their program for upgrading your existing phone. By contrast, I would be using my own existing phone rather than purchasing one, and I can't tell whether this means I would be excluded from mileage earning. One way to read the above sentence would be that new customers are only eligible to earn miles when they are puchasing a new device on the Next Program. Another way to read the sentence would be that if purchasing a new device on the Next Program only new customers are eligible for mileage.

I'd love to know if anyone has recently "added a line" as a new AT&T Customer and received miles without also making phone purchase, but also welcome anyone else's thoughts on how to interpret the language.

Not at all. You should use the card that gives you the most value for spend with that merchant. Of course you are going to take extra AA shopping portal miles on top of that. The two are independent.

For example if I was buying something that coded as travel, I would use my CSR for the 3 Chase pts, rather than 1 AA mile & LP, per dollar. That doesn't defeat the purpose of collecting the portal miles on top of that.

This is what I was referring to with IHG, so I'm guessing the commission is at the IATA level indeed, and not something more trivial like a 'referral' or advertising fee (it means that I can't stack the Shopping portal perks with commission for my travel agency).

A completely fresh chrome install, incognito window:

In the case of IHG, it deeplinks an IATA code, auto toggles the travel agent button and populates it. But I need to confirm if that's the case also with Marriott.

Whoops. Its been over 45 days and my blue apron miles posted to my AA account and I thought I was in the clear. But I went back to my AAShopping portal and noticed the miles still show as pending. Did I cancel the blue apron subscription too early? Do I need to worry?

No, the pending status stays there for about a week after the miles have actually posted to the AA account, and then changes to confirmed.

It doesnt defeat the purpose at all. You earn the 5x at Adidas no matter what card you use. And obviously there is something wrong in the interface between your card and Adidas - which side you choose to blame is irrelevant; the obvious solution is to use a different card.

Its not like getting 1x mile by using your AA card is some amazing deal - surely you have other cards that earn similar value.

Simply Miles posting issues

I know this is not the right forum but posting here. I have a few transactions with simplymiles that have not posed, circleK and Blue Apron that I have loaded and also added to AA Citi card for stacking. Got credits on CC but not simplymiles credit. Have emailed them a number of times but nothing back.

any thoughts on what else to do?

Thanks

FYI, Apple has up to 6 miles/$ spend for today only. Read the fine print on what's excluded. Thinking of upgrading my XS Max to iPhone 14 Plus but it's only giving 3 miles/$ spend.
