American Airlines is not the contact for Cartera / AAdvantage eShopping .

AAdvantage eShopping FAQs and an e-contact form can be found via the "Contact Us" link at the bottom left corner of the home page.

If you have trouble getting purchases to track, there's also a browser extension to help.

Notes about Giftcards.com:
  • A separate thread exists for discussing Giftcards.com and likely has more data points than this generic thread.
  • Purchases from giftcards.com earn miles on the first $2,000 spent in the named calendar month, meaning for example between March 1st and March 31st.
  • Giftcards.com has had various limits over the years, and it was always by calendar month.
  • Some data points show the $2,000 monthly limit is not always enforced.
  • In 2022, larger orders track more slowly, and you may need to wait a full month to see miles.
(Copied from the LP thread wiki): Once you click through the AAdvantage eShopping portal to a vendor offer and make a purchase, you will eventually get the associated miles posted to your AAdvantage account as both redeemable miles and Loyalty Points. If the merchant advertises an increase in the miles per dollar spent, you'll earn the higher amount in both redeemable miles and an equal number of Loyalty Points. The same applies if a merchant advertises a higher fixed amount per purchase, rather than a per dollar amount. Examples of this would appear on the portal as, "Extra miles. Was 1 mile/$. Now earn 3 miles/$" or "Extra miles. Was up to 3700 miles. Now up to 6200 miles." However, if the website advertises a "Limited-time bonus offer" for "bonus miles" after meeting a spending threshold, that bonus will only post as redeemable miles and not Loyalty Points. If a bonus is offered for some site-wide activity such as 1000 miles for installing an extension, or 500 miles for enrolling in the portal, or 2000 miles for meeting a spending threshold across multiple merchants, the bonus will only post as redeemable miles and not Loyalty Points.

I got declined at a local store that until a few days ago hadn't been a problem. I thought maybe I hadn't set the PIN. But then before I had the chance to revisit any local stores, I tried a Smith's and an Albertson's in Las Vegas and got "Not Authorized" or words like that. I even did try doing a $99 swipe and that didn't work.

Interesting on the $99 swipe. BHN has been on the warpath and I think any chain or store that see significant volume will get blocked eventually (though they seem to take their time). I have largely moved away from BHN metas unless I am either acquiring them for a discount and/or making so many points on them that higher cost liquidation options that still are reliable make sense.

DP, on the check out page when I click "add Promo code", VETERANSDAYSALE pops up, and when applied gives the 5% and tracks as it should on the site. I know most of you are chasing LP's, but the shopping portal is also giving 4000 bonus miles for $1500 spend. and for the first time in over a year I've had no problems with the website, everything went through smoothly. and purchasing 2 at a time! I did $250 MC with VETERANSDAY yesterday and another $500 about 2 hours ago and neither has been acknowledged yet. Ultimately I'm happy to make an instant 2.8% on my money even if they don't work, especially being that the card has 0% APR for 18 months and the cash will be sitting in HYSA. But would be sweet to bank those LPs... 🤞

I joined the order cancellation club at GC.com with my first order of 1k. Resubmitted for 250 and believe that I'm now under manual review.

I need to take an in-depth look of everything available. Too bad there is no AA. I'm thinking of doing some grocery store action.

I bought one of the promo discounted $250 MCs and it tracked/showed up as pending the next day.

I used to buy literally $millions a year, $25K at a time. When they put in the $99 limit I was stuck with about $17K in cards. There is a provision in the T&C that says "If you do not accept these terms and conditions, you may return the cards to us for a refund" and that's exactly what I did. Took a little back-and-forth but eventually I got a check.

The T&C on these cards say "Can be used anywhere Visa debit is accepted. No cash and no ATM access." Meaning, basically, they can't arbitarily block the cards since (a) money orders aren't cash and (b) The T&C don't say "Almost everywhere Visa debit is accepted" or "Can be used anywhere Visa debit is accepted except here and there where we decide it's not."

However... I just got back from Walmart. My local store has been without money orders for months, because the new Western Union money order machine wasn't connected properly. It is now, and I was able to liquidate 9 $250 GC's, $99 and $52 swipes at a time.

I’m starting to have more and more issues with getting the promised miles for purchases. (And before anyone asks, nope, no ad blocking, plug-ins, etc). The purchases show up in recent visits with the purchase amount, I receive the email that my order has been tracked, them nothing. My success rate for contacting customer service to get the missing miles is about 75%.

Right now, I’m rather irked about missing miles from a $5,000 purchase (with a 5x mileage earn rate) from Ylang23. Purchase was October 5. I got the tracking email but nothing since. Contacted customer support on October 25, they said they’re looking into it, but it’s radio silence. Really frustrating.

Give it a couple more weeks. I had a $5k purchase at Gucci.com (8x earn) and any purchase that large is going to be manually reviewed.

Ordered a 250 with code, received email with visit to portal and estimated 3x miles on full $255. Will make two purchases per day until I get to $2K total. Promo good for a few more days, hope the 3x stays around on GCC

Looks like people are ordering 2 $250's in one order and it's tracking just as quickly as ordering 1 $250?

I got my 250 but the original order is the one that tracked. I hope just receive the correct amount of miles.

I am hoping to get the card. I always received them within a few hours. It has now been two days and no card.

I bought the $250 card for $243.45, pay $243.05 rent with a $6.95 transaction fee. So in essence I paid $0.40 to get 768 LP, 768 RDM, and credit card points for that $243.45.

Since I can pay rent with these visa or master giftcards I bought up to $2000 daily, and will continue until the promo ends. I can tell you the points tracked smoothly either as 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x $250 order.
