Miles usually post on Bask website on the second business day of the month, to AA a day or 2 later.

Check the "Rewards" section of your Bask dashboard or the Recent Activity section of your AA account.

Current earn rate as of June 2023: 2.5 miles/dollar/year, awarded monthly (no LP's).

My 4X miles disappeared today. And to specifically answer the question raised up thread, it also backed them out of the Program to Date as well.

I didn't get 4X miles, just 1X, but my monthly miles disappeared from AA.com too.

Wirelessly posted (The Hawaiian iPhone : Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A306 Safari/6531.22.7)

Looks like my miles have correctly posted (1x not 4x).

Right, the original posting was pulled and then the correct posting was added.

It wasn't done as an adjustment, they literally undid the first posting and no trace of it, then uploaded the corrected posting.

Corrected, but still not right

Checking this morning, they have added back the referral, and the correct balance points. But they also added back the account open points, which were never removed. So it's still wrong, 1000 miles in my benefit.

09/03/10 NEW CUSTOMER REFERRAL 1,000 0 1,000
09/03/10 CHECKING ACCT OPENED 1,000 0 1,000
09/03/10 AVG CHECKING BAL 500 0 500
09/02/10 CHECKING ACCT OPENED 1,000 0 1,000

Take it and run! I'm 1000 under, and from their responses, I think I'll never see it. So between us, we're even.

Ha I thought it was just me that had some weird mileage amount come and go... then stumbled on here. Oh well

As for the FDIC piece, I would not place $1m in any single bank account. I would diversify across names. Remember FDIC itself is a credit risk, it's likely in our bail-out-anything-mentality it would be gov backed if it ran out of money, but fact off matter is there is no explicit backstop for FDIC. Diversifying is far better approach.

What is the deal on the ACH transfers do we need to keep them depositing for a certain amt of time or just one-time for the 5k miles?

I asked for my 5K DD bonus after a few direct deposits, and they had no problem with that.

Using Bankdirect for Quick Elite Status

I recently spoke with a customer service representative at Bankdirect who told me that there are no limits to the amount of miles you can earn with their mileage checking accounts! I thought for sure there'd be some sort of cap, but it looks like it's wide open.

After doing some research, the financials of Bankdirect seem relatively strong. I know a lot of people would be hesitant to dump more than the FDIC insurable limit of $250k into an account, but even with two accounts (one personal, one joint), you could amass 600,000 miles in a year! In 20 months, you could achieve Lifetime Gold! And not have to worry about paying taxes on the miles.

I participate in a "kye" which is a traditional Korean method of lending. There's about 30 people who each put in $10,000 a month into a pot, and we draw lots to see who gets the combined $300,000 each month. Everyone pays in until the last person gets the full amount and then we decide whether or not to keep it going.

My number's coming up, and I wanted to see if anyone else had success using bankdirect for a large amount of Aadvantage miles. Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, any miles you'd get through Bankdirect are redeemable miles as opposed to elite qualifying miles. Thus, they don't count towards elite status.

Yes, but the OP is taking about the 1M miles required for Lifetime Gold. It doesn't matter to AA how you accumulate the said miles, at least for now.

Correct, ooodaveb: lifetime elite versus qualifying BIS miles... I'm also leaning more towards it because of all this talk about American changing their policies. I only have 150,000 miles right now (from two citicard signup bonuses) but I'd like to think I'd be able to hit a million miles in a year or two. Hopefully time enough to earn elite, but even without it, it'd still make for a bunch of free flights.
