Screwed by AA... Literally
Found this in my breakfast on Sunday's AA106. Had some of the pineapple before I noticed. The attendant call button went ignored. "We're here primarily for your safety," eh? Good thing I wasn't choking on it. Found my FA chatting in the galley. "Sorry, this part of the plane is loud, so we can't hear the chime." Ah... So a perfect place for your conversation, then.

Interestingly, even after complaining to the FA and pointing out another ignored call light in the cabin, that other light continued to be ignored by that and other FAs. I saw one notice it and actively ignore it. It was on when we landed. It's not like they're easy to accidentally push in the 77W J cabin.

AA tries to help with your iron intake, and this is the thanks they get?!

If I were choking, I would not ring my call button and sit quietly until the FA responded. Maybe that's just me.

I was expecting a post about joining the mile high club with an AA employee.

BTW, you were not having an emergency. It could have been, but it wasn't.

I do think the wording below insinuates that a call button should never be used for emergency.

I would reply to the CS response.
A common gesture if this were to happen in a restaurant would be to make the meal free. Not saying they should comp your ticket (paid/award), but the meal is J should be worth more than 4k miles.

(also, if this happened in a restaurant they'd most likely make just the fruit plate free, or comp one item, not the entire dinner)

Seems a complaint is in order to the health inspector at the originating airport town. A problem in the prep kitchen?
It's too noisy to hear the call button? LAME answer. Guess the chime needs to be a lot louder since the purpose is to alert them to being needed.

I think you should bolt for another airline, or at least start a new thread.
