ARCHIVE: Best 777-200ER / 772 Business Class and NGBC Seats (consolidated)

The first 777 with the new AVOD and NGBC rolled out of Alliance yesterday 7/21 and then operated to LGW as flight 50. Currently per airliners.net is going to be DFW/LGW runs for a few days. Config is 16F/37J/195Y.

Hopefully someone will have a report on the new AVOD soon.

[Edited by mod to add Wiki link.]

N.B. ALL 777-223ERs have been converted to NGBC, as documented in the Wiki.

Great news. I can't wait to fly in one of the newly configured aircraft.

Hurrah! Thanks for the info.

It is sad that we are having to rely on 2nd hand info from airliners.net these days though.

Indeed.

This rollout has been discussed for a few weeks now - off list though.

Was on lgw-dfw return leg and was very impressed with the seats, however layout is interesting with thinner aisles. Less room I believe than the previous 777 J layout. Seems to be a far more claustrophobic cabin aswell when i looked forward to people lying out on them.

Thanks, Dalguy and AA 777; good information and good news! I think we kinda expected skinnier aisles, as the 763s got them too - carts that go Bump! more frequently.

a_fman, how did they resolve the 3-in-the-middle seat configuration?

Wexflyer, sure. Just close your eyes and visualize...

It appears as though they did the same as with the old 777 J in sticking a window pair of seats next to a single seat that appears to not quite fit, although that is only from what I saw in the few seconds walking to and from Y.....was of course in my trusty ol' 31J so didn't get any glimpses during the flight.

Interesting - gives a whole new dimension to being a "mid-row prisoner" - I can recline, but forget using the lav if my bracketing partners are snoozing?

At what rate are they coverting? I am flying LAX>NRT in October on a T7. Wonder if there is any chance I'll have the new layout.
