I've seen them get moved up. Not sure if its standard though.

I am curious about your signature. I was Gold last year for AA but achieved Platinum in December....sooo this year I am Platinum. What was the most welcome addition?

Some of the significant differences between GLD & PLT:

#1 - 100% bonus miles (as opposed to 25% for GLD)
#2 - Lounge access on int'l flights (regardless of class of service)
#3 - Higher priority for upgrades

For me, it was #2 and #3. I accumulate miles quickly, so getting more has less value. But the increased upgrade percentage coupled with international lounge access (I was not an AC member at the time) were the most significant advantages. Oh, and the card looks cooler.

Cheers.

Actually I did the Platinum Challenge in early 2007 and have been a PLAT ever since. My signature is referring to how much better things on AA were vs. my former airline: US where I was a Chairman's Preferred in 2005-2006.

No. A1 crew members are in a must ride category, but not cabin specific.
