I don't see why that wouldn't be possible on a partner award, but I haven't dealt with them on HA before. I have dealt with partner awards from other non-OW partners.
You would have to redo the ticket and pay the redeposit fee ($150), and hope award seats are available.

This is probably why most moderators discourage bumping old threads. (Although mvoight's answer is a fine one.)

The problem is HA considers them tied to a specific flight and will not let you move up or back. Maybe if your mainland plane is late (I never had to find out), but they sure were not letting me fly an empty seat on an earlier flight. We caught a weak headwind day and roared west from Texas at record pace, but were told we got to sit till the booked flight period. Last time I found a cheap enough seat in the absolute middle of a 767 and just paid for it.

Does anyone have any recent experience of this? From this chart:
https://www.aa.com/i18n/disclaimers/...rtnerChart.jsp
it looks like that one-way inter-island awards should be available for 5k. This seems pretty good value, esp as HA themselves charge 10k for one-way awards. Does one just check HA for award availability and then phone AA? If this works, does anyone know what additional fees (telephone booking?) to expect?
