Can I use AA miles to book a ticket on Mexicana?
 
looking to go to JFK>CUN in March, can I use my AA miles to buy a ticket and/or upgrade on Mexicana?

You can use AA miles to get a MX award ticket
You can not use AA miles to upgrade on non AA flights.
The information on specific partner awards is available at aa.com

You need to call AA to book partner awards.
