InsipidMonkey's list shows that there is a logic to the codes.
With a relatively simple algorithm one can come up with several.

Yes the ? for Sydney is definitely appropriate give the Ts+Cs state Promotion Codes are only valid on AA.com for flights operated by American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection.

28N1AY should work for PVG, valid between 10/29/11 and 12/5/11.
(It also applies to GRU, LHR, NRT, CDG, MAN, PEK, as well as to BWI, DCA, IAD, PHX, MSP, SFO, SJC.)

Anyone have a discount code good for this weekend? My grandfather passed away earlier today, and I'm trying to get a bunch of family members from ORD to NYC for the funeral. No saver awards at convenient times and fares are pretty high. Thanks.

Call AA and see about the bereavement fares.

Thanks. We called about the bereavement fares, but they're significantly more than the best available (although they're changeable).
