Admiral's Club Pranked

listen here

The crap people have to put up with when they answer phones.

Corby Davidson from The Ticket in Dallas, called AA to inquire about AAdmiral's Club membership. One of his bits is that he works really bad jokes into the conversation to see if the rep will laugh or call him on them.

The station then has a contest where a contestant guesses if the person will laugh at all three jokes. Yesterday it was for REM tickets.

Made me laugh, especially her reaction after the last joke.

At least now we know why you can no longer make phone calls to Admirals Clubs from outside.

The lady was very professional. AA can be proud of her customer service.

you're absolutely correct, one guy doing some schtick to one rep that he called on the 800# pushed it over the edge and now nobody can call in.

Cheers.

FWIW, I called the MCI AC yesterday to renew. I called the 800 number, then it gives you the option of directly connecting to a club. I didn't tell any bad jokes, though.

She was indeed very professional, and hopefully has been commended for it by AA.

Love her description: "snacky-things" and her kind "Very good, Mr. Cedar. That's not what you do for a living, is it?"

Heard her recite the base AAdvantage-level fee of $500.
WOW.
Def. something to add to the threads on why pursue higher elite levels.

(I realize the fee isn't a newsflash, just hadn't been a base-level member in a while, & had either not realized of forgotten how high those club fees are at that level....not sure I'd pay that much, but whether or not it's worth $500 is a topic for elsewhere...)

And that is why they call those people AAngels...because nobody else could put up with crap like that.

---

PS - re the $500 charge: anyone who (a) doesn't fly AA enough to be GLD, and (b) pays the $500 rather than buying day passes: please call Henry Paulson in Washington - he has some ideas for how to use all your excess money.
