The miles are posted quickly, and only one month's membership is required.

My family & I have been considering signing up for Netflix for some time. This offer made it a no-brainer...we received our first three DVDs on Friday.

We received the e-mail, too--both of us a separate e-mail. Both were for 2,500 miles, and both contained a "tell a friend" link with room for four e-mail addresses. So it may be "targeted" without being strictly targeted, after all.

Enjoy another kind of flying
So, although I'm not sure I'll keep my Netflix membership past this one month, I have to offer a recommendation for everyone here: if you missed the PBS miniseries "Carrier" (as I did, being in England when it aired originally), it's available through the Netflix Movie Viewer, so you can watch it on your computer even if you've got other DVDs out.
I highly recommend it for anyone who is interested in aviation. (As I am, both as a frequent flyer and an aerospace engineer.) It was shot during a 6-month cruise on USS Nimitz in 2005. It's a documentary shot in the "reality" style--no voiceovers or outside experts/narrators. The guys behind the camera never talk. Besides lots and lots of great aviation footage, you get a real inside look at the lives of the 200 officers and 5000 or so sailors crewing one of our nation's largest and most powerful weapons.

Anyone have a link for a current offer of 2500 miles? All I can find is 1500 miles. Thanks.

Miles posted incredibly quickly! I signed up Saturday (9/6), got my first DVDs Tuesday (9/9). Miles are posted already, dated 9/6. I don't know exactly when they showed up, but no more than 3 days, and that was over a weekend!
