I'm certainly not trying to defend TSA, but there's certainly more to this story than we've heard I suspect ... what strikes me as odd about the four "samples" that AEPilot posted is that they appear to be cut and paste jobs since "devise" is misspelled the same. This post certainly leads to more questions than it provides answers.

It should be docked from their paychecks. And they get to spend their weekends off washing airplanes for the next six months. For free.

If I were in charge, they wouldn't have any butt left because I would have chewed it all off.

Maybe if you had to fill out 14 similar reports, you'd use cut and paste, too?

I don't know, but AEPilot76 has some credibility on this forum and I don't think he's making this up.

It is a cut and paste job, from the DECS system that AA/AE uses. DECS is crew and aircraft tracking system that crewmembers use on a daily basis. There is about 3 pages of the particular entry I made (DIS 19AUG ORD/ALL). I didn't write anything in those entries, either operations or dispatch did.

Feel free to verify this information with Jrhone who also has access to DECS. This story is also going on 3 pages on the eagle pilots website

Monkeys would be a few rungs higher on the evolution chain.

Thanks for the clarification of what TSA means, in the subject line. I thought the S stood for stupidty.

So, 14 planes damaged, that's 14 less that can be taken over.

They will now probably make use of the necessity defense, claiming they were merely exercising their general duty to keep the community at large (us) safe from harm. This news definitely needs to get out to the media. Thanks for sharing, AEpilot.

Now, a multiple choice question:

Fourteen (14) is:

1) the number of Eagle aircraft damaged in an attempt to gain surreptitious egress

2) the shoe size of the idiot who stepped on and broke the TAT probes

3) the IQ of the leader of the exercise

4) the IQ of Mr. Hawley

5) all of the above.

I certainly was not implying that AEPilot was not credible (and re-reading my post, I don't think it is that poorly worded that you can get to that conclusion easily), rather my point is that there are two sides to every story (three sides if you go with the old saying there's two sides and the truth), and I don't think the information AEPilot provided in the first post is even one complete side, rather just a piece of information. There's nothing wrong with that, he just provided what information he knew, all I was saying is that we are missing a lot of information about this story.

What's left to be said? 14 aircraft, and the writeups on four delayed flights with the reason as stated.

Frankly, I'd love to hear what the TSA response might be.

My vote is 5). Can we start a poll on this?

I'm pretty sure AEpilot76 could have posted all 14 of them. He's in a position to know those things.

And, yeah, I'd just love to hear the TSA's response.
