How to book a AA MR on a particular fare basis?

Okay, this could be on MR MRdiscussions or here, so Mods, please move if you need to.

I have found a sweet fare basis using ExpertFlyer for a MR I would like to take. Checked availability using EF, however for the life of me, I cannot make aa.com offer that fare basis.

So,

Is EF wrong in the availability?
Is EF wrong on the price of the fare basis?

Is aa.com holding back on the fare basis as it is too good to be true?

EF Says there is a single N seat left, yet aa.com insists on only offering L.

Are "held" seats shown in EF?

Just put the reservation on hold at ANY fare, then call AA and have them switch to whatever fare basis you want. The AAgent can leave it on hold, and you can purchase online within the appropriate time window to avoid phone booking fees.

Looks like the "Return Trip" price, quoted in EF, is the price for each one-way leg.

DOH!.

I have experienced discrepancies been availability on EF, aa.com and what the AAgent can see. Very frustrating, and I don't recall anyone coming up with a plausible explanation.
