priceline upgrades

I did a search but all Priceline threads I find are about earning miles on priceline tickets. I know I won't earn miles on priceline ticket. How about upgrades? This would be for a domestic flight. Can I use my 500-mile upgrades?

Thanks

What is the class your ticket is priced at? If T your are allowed to use X upgrades, "electronic upgrades", but not A upgrades, "mileage upgrades". My experience with trying to upgrade T using X required manual intervention and not processed with the automted systems. YMMV

Read the detailed fare rules carefully before you purchase your ticket. Many consolidator fares (Priceline, Hotwire, etc.) are NOT mileage earning and NOT upgradable.

If you won't earn miles and the chance is great that you will be unable to upgrade, why book the priceline ticket? I'm curious, how much cheaper is it than something booked w/AA directly?

I (and you) have no idea what you are talking about. T inventory can never be upgraded using electronic upgrades or mileage upgrades. It only is upgradeable for hard, cold cash in the unlikely event that AA's computers decide that there are sufficient F seats available at checkin (in other words, rarely). And in any event, T inventory would never be sold on priceline.

Indeed. Paid (cash) upgrades to T tickets would be available at the kiosks only (and then, only for elites), or possibly at some international stations such as LHR or CDG as is reported on FT from time to time.

Is there no end to your pickiness?
