767 vs 777

I have flown both and prefer the 777 version. I have found the cabin to be a bit bigger even with the extra row of seats. I was able to compare it fairly close together when I flew a 777 in J down to Brazil and a 767 back in three days.

But in either case, I was comfortable enough....

AA has only one flight to MAD, and it's a 777, I believe?

AA to MAD

Yup, only one AA flight from MIA. AA68 and it is a 777. Maybe the OP was going to go through LHR or BRU

On a 777 you have the possibility of an op-up (even though that event is rare).

From TPA, there's via DFW and via MIA. 777 via MIA and 767 via DFW. Same price for either. I didn't want to get into the "which airport should I fly through discussion"... my preference is to do DFW for the extra miles and the longer flight and later arrival time (allowing more sleep).

On UA, the 777 is a far superior plane vs the 767 and from doing searches for AA, the interior of each model look fairly similar except for the inflight entertainment... but I didn't want to miss out on one of those incredibly important observations only a FT-er would know.

So, am I correct to assume that the 767's portable unit doesn't have a moving map?

Or traveling on or after May 1, when the DFW-MAD flights begin.

More precisely, it begins 1 May 2009 and will operate year-round.

I disagree about the 777 IFE, it's ancient technology and the display quality is awful. The 763 Int'l IFE is very much like a laptop in display quality and responsiveness. The only disadvantage is the 1hr before landing FA take back.

Surprised no one mentioned it yet -- catering and service (i.e., FA : pax ratio) are both better on the the 767.

The 777 J seat is wider and the footwell is more generous if you put a premium on personal space. Otherwise the center section on the 767 in J is a darn nice ride. No one needing to climb over you and better soft product/service.
